They've announced the newest series after Super Ninja Steel as of today in Los Angeles...and well, it threw quite the number of people for a loop. Here's the synopsis that is currently available for Beast Morphers, straight from the Power Rangers Now website article:

Set in the future, a secret agency combines a newly discovered substance called “Morph-X” with animal DNA to create the Power Rangers Beast Morphers team. The Rangers must fight off an evil sentient computer virus bent on taking over the source of all Ranger power, the Morphin Grid itself. Featuring never-before-seen leather suits and an all-new beast-themed arsenal (including dynamic new Zords), fans should get ready for a season full of secret ops and morphinominal fun.

That's the synopsis and here's the huge twist to everyone involved. This series is not based on Zyuohger nor is it based on Kyuranger. What was revealed...was that it was this: behold the face of the Beast Morphers Rangers. In a shock, they bring forth the Go-Busters and adapt them to the Power Rangers, rather than continue on with the likes of either Zyuohger or Kyuranger, which come after the Sentai counterpart that Ninja Steel/Super Ninja Steel is based upon.

Beast Morphers will mark Power Rangers' 26th Season and it will air early 2019.

I mean, the zords make for way better toys than the Rubik's Cubes and the Space Balls.

This is true.

Though I feel almost like this came outta left field. Cause Go-Buster was/should've happened after Super Megaforce (Gokaiger) and before Dino Charge (Kyoryuger). Wonder why they decided to want to almost go backwards on this.

Also, if it's set in the future, how far in the future? Before SPD? After SPD and before Timeforce? After Timeforce and have it placed between it and the canon story of Hyperforce? Or is it placed way after Hyperforce? Unless this is placed in the timeline of RPM... These are the questions that need to be addressed soon.

Yea, this is SO weird. For one we are going to have footage that is 8-9 years old being used so that is liable to stand out. Also, going backwards means when this finishes and the new PR season starts Sentai will be a full 5 seasons ahead. Also, no matter how many times I read the description it feels more like they are talking about Zyuohger since that was an animal season and Go-Busters was a spy series with a minor animal theme.

And Saban no longer will have the rights to distribute the toys and goes to Hasbro.

Saban still owns the rights. What has changed is Bandai is no longer doing the toys.

Thought this would be about Zyuohger, but this could not be predicted. However, as this is the only detail we have, no comment yet.

That's the thought on most of the fanbase atm. Though to be perfectly honest, they were expecting Kyuranger to be the next one and skip over the Zyuohger and their Rubiks cube morphers.

I thought the same. However, the moment they mentioned "leather suits", I surmised before looking at the image the article provided that it would be Go-Busters. Nevertheless, I find it almost odd for them to go backwards with seasons, but at the same time...many people were wanting Go-Busters to be the next PR after Super Megaforce (just because it was after Gokaiger), but instead we got Dino Charge.

Either way, I'm sure more detail will provide itself...and who knows, maybe the spy theme will show itself. It says its based in the future, so perhaps there will be something similar, like there was with SPD.
