Perry Ellis.
Pee’k, Man of the MountainEARTH | Level 4 | Rock | EffectOnce per turn, you can Flip 1 face up monster on the field to facedown DEF Position: add 1 card that specifically lists “Rock Type monster” in its text to your hand. If a Rock Type monster is Flipped facedown, Draw 1 card. 1400/1600 Writer’s Note: New search power for Rock monsters, helps you search out the new Rock boss monster that I made as well while also proving Rock monsters a draw engine. Summount, Heart of the MountainEARTH l Level 8 | Rock | EffectThis card cannot be Normal Summoned/ Set. If a card is flipped face up or a Set Spell/Trap card is activated, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. When this card is summoned, Flip all cards on the field facedown or place them in the Set Position. Your opponent cannot target this card with card effects while there is a facedown or Set card on your field. Once per turn (Quick Effect): Target facedown or set cards equal to the number of other Rock type monsters you control, those cards cannot change Battle Positions or be activated until your opponent’s next turn. 2800/3200 Writer’s Note: the new Rock boss monster I made, allows you to chain his summon of off a spell or trap being flipped up and then flips all cards (yes spells and traps too) to facedown or Set Position, allowing for more protection. You can even chain his own quick effect to his summon and make it so your opponent can’t use those cards that were flipped. Empirest, Mountain of Kings Field SpellOnce per turn, you can Discard 1 card; Special Summon 1 level 5 or lower Rock monster from your deck in facedown DEF Position. Once per turn when your opponent activates a card effect (Quick Effect): you can flip a face up card facedown, if the targeted card was also the card that activated its effect, negate that effect. If a facedown card on your side of the field is destroyed by your opponent’s card effect, Send 1 card from your opponent’s hand to the GY. Writer’s Note: Another Generic field spell or rock monsters. This field spell goes more along with the old style of control rocks since it helps flip cards facedown. It even comes with a protection effect for your facedown Rock monsters. Dova
Pee'k is a +0/+1 with a wide range of targets, particularly in FLIP decks. Might make some nice combos in Rock FLIP, and isn't really broken due to its lack of speed. By the way, in current card grammar post-VRAINS, we use "Rock monster" instead of "Rock-Type monster". For Summount, you could say "If this card is Summoned: Set all other face-up cards on the field." Regardless, it is a powerhouse, but only for the FLIP Rock monsters, so they can afford to have such a strong beater. Works well with Book of moon. Empirest should probably allow you to Summon Level 6 or lower monster, to give you access to Hieracosphinx (sorry for another OCG correction, but it's "face-down Defense Position" not "DEF position") Second effect should probably target before it flips, to give your opponent a chance to respond rather than allowing you to choose any monster you want when the effect resolves. As for the damaging bit to your opponent's hand; very good. Surprisingly decent set of support for the old Rock thematics. I rather like them, even with one or two mistakes here and there in terms of their balance. Good stuff.
