From the tittle I thought it'd be a Beast-Type :v

 

Self SS direct attacker with 1k ATK is alright.

What really shines with this card is the fact it can become a 3k piercer with an Ancient Gear Golem clause. Makes you really wanna pierce with it.
Even with the self SS clause at the end, it is pretty ok. You make more damage trying to pierce than trying to direct attack, both in LP and in card advantage.

 

So I'd personally scrap the direct attack part. Maybe instead give it a Rocket Warrior-like clause where it can attack something stronger without being destroyed and without LP damage, and it forces all monsters it battles with (and doesn't destroy) to defense position. That would really help its focus.
