Link Magician (written)

Link Magician is a Link Monster I was inspired to make from a dream. It had more broken effects than this, so I did my best to make them balanced-ish.

Link Magician

Link 2/DARK/Spellcaster/Up, Down/1900

1+ Spellcaster Monsters

When this card is Link Summoned: If this card is linked with 2 monsters; add 1 Spell Card from your deck to your hand.

Any monsters linked with this card have their effects negated, and they cannot attack.

Once per turn (Quick Effect): You can destroy all monsters linked to this card; Draw 1 card for each monster destroyed.

At most, it just gives Spellcasters a way to neuter stuff while adding draw power. Then again, I don't really see the first effect triggering too much unless your opponent summoned in front of it earlier (or you force a Token in that spot).

Then again, I do have my skepticism on making that last effect Quick; would amount to the opponent being unable to do anything, even if the monster itself is already neutered without being able to attack or use its effects. Would be fine if it was limited to your own turn.

Card works, but any Spellcaster decks at the moment either can't field the requirements needed (though this is more on old stuff) or they have better options that fit their needs.

I am a bit used to seeing "points to" for where a Link's arrows go to, "linked" to say something else points to it, and "co-linked" to say it points to something that also is pointing to it.

I'm not entirely sure but I think this card means other Links pointing to it for it to be linked with them, right?

That'd make the first effect pretty hard to pull off, requiring some sort of triangle of Links under an EMZ with this at the center most of the time. It'd make the second effect a pretty harsh drawback, and the last effect be the redeeming ok one that still would sound a little expensive for the draws.

If it means what it points to, then it'd be situational outside of a Grinder Golem/Kaiju/Lava Golem/Ra Sphere play, as it'd require the opponent to play into the right place, but the generic Spell search is more than worth it. The negation effect would still be underwhelming, mostly being able to be used to Normal Summon Beast King Barbaros with full ATK or something casually fun like that. Finally, the last effect would be pretty good and warrant its materials not being generic. I agree that making it a quick effect when it has another pretty good one already, is a tad much.

If it worked when linked to or pointed to, then I guess you can overlap the benefits of both of my previous paragraphs (also I'm still not used to Link era Link Monster pointer grammar so I'm covering my bases by addressing this one).

Well, appropriate wording for referring to a monster linked to a monster = "monster this card points to" OR "monster that a Link Monster points to" (other monsters, or if you have to be specific). Co-linked is when a Link Monster's arrows point to that of another one. You're fine.

I think I missed that when reviewing earlier, but I assumed that he just meant that anything this card is pointing to gets its effects negated and can't attack. Have him confirm this (if it was intentional, or misplaced wording).

Allowing 1+ for its materials seems problematic, since you can use a single Link2 to Summon this, making it for an easy exchange. Not to mention it can use a copy of itself...

Destroying as a cost has no precedence. You are better off making the destruction as part of the effect. Also it would sinergize with effects that trigger when the card is destroyed by an effect. That aside, the effect being a Quick Effect feels a bit of an overkill. Destroying an opponent's monster and then gaining a card through the draw seems mean to me, too, in an unfair sense.

Not a fan of the omni search effect. We are speaking of an Left Arm Offering that resides in the Extra Deck, without the heavy cost, and that can be set up with enough support, like Grinder Golem, Kaiju, etc. or just by chance.

Overall IMO it's too good to be fair.
