Ultimagamer Posted March 6, 2018 Report Share Posted March 6, 2018 Metamorphosis has been banned for a very long time, which is quite understandable given that it’s quite a powerful effect for such a little cost MetamorphosisSpell - Normal Tribute 1 monster. Special Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck with the same Level as the Tributed Monster. It’s a good effect, but the only time we had to see it in action was 2005. It was banned for 12 years afterward, and a lot of new mechanics, monsters, and such have been introduced since it was created. One notable thing about the level 10 section was that these cards are quite accessible, given that railway as an archetype allows for easy summons of level 10 monsters. Level 8’s are theoretically good in blue eyes, 5’s could be good in cyber dragons, level 6/7 could be good in pendulum magicians given that astrograph sorcerer and chronograph sorcerer exist for easy summons, I have no idea how you would get to level 9s or 12s on a regular basis though. Would this card still be meta relevant? It’s unsearchable, since it’s not a fusion card it’s quite unsearchable by any good cards, unless you can actively rely on left arm offering to search it and still summon a good monster with the effect. ( all of the good cards that can be summoned by this effect are listed below. Levels not present have no good fusion monsters to summon. Normal monsters are not included. Darj Posted March 6, 2018 Report Share Posted March 6, 2018 Now that you brought this card up, another change against it is the Master Rule 4, since now using this requires either a free EM Zone, or marked MM Zones. Ultimagamer Posted March 6, 2018 Author Report Share Posted March 6, 2018 In general the card has lost a lot of it's old flare, given that it's biggest play back in 2005 was just making thousand-eyes restrict off of a goat token and stealing an opponent's monster. Definitely not nearly as powerful in the modern day, with things like pendulum magicians making norito and vortex dragon backed by decode talker This is a full list of ALL the monsters that can be summoned by metamorphosis. The first list was all the ones I thought were good, this is all regardless of how terrible they are when summoned by this card. Some, like UFOroid fighter are hard to summon and come out as 0 attack and defense normal monsters because they weren't fusion summoned. A lot of cards on this list here, while not requiring a fusion summon do have to be fusion summoned to get their best effects, or all of their effects in general. Again, normal monsters are not included, there are some level 2,3, and 4 ones, but tributing a monster of the same level for a normal one from the extra is a terrible play.
