Is Deck Destruction Viable These Days?

Recommended Posts

Hey all. I recently started a new project trying to see if I can make a deck death strategy work. The last time I really saw any play with this type was about 5 years ago. So I'm wondering if with the new cards, eratas, ban list changes and what not, if a better deck for this strategy can be built. After seeing Trickstar Reincarnation, I thought maybe it would be a good time to look into it and maybe use the Empty Jar strategy as the primary engine for the deck. I have a prototype deck here for this strategy. If anyone knows of any good cards that I probably haven't seen yet that would be great in this deck, let me know. Also, what are your thoughts on how successful this deck type could be?

I think the simplest way to explain the matter is to think about empty jar itself. It was called such, because it used morphing jar #1 to mill efficiently, while using morphing jar #2 to protect from monsters.

Both of those cards are banned. Even if they weren't, they wou- okay, so maybe they would be playable, because honestly they are both just insane effects, but not in this deck.

Mill is a really cool tactic, but Yu-Gi-Oh is way too powerful of a game for it to be viable.

Moved this to Banlist and Theory cause, after getting some advice, I think it's the best spot for this thread atm.

Sorry I don't have much to say about the topic ^^;

Ahh sorry for the bad spot. Thanks for moving it and no worries, I know this is an idea that will take a lot of work considering it's not a  popular strategy.

Me and none of my 6 friends that play have access to any tourneys so we tend to play traditional and advanced formats for fun. So cards being banned isn't too much of any issue here. As for it not being powerful enough, it has proven it can be OTK and sometimes FTK capable. Check out this Video where he shows how easy it is to abuse both Needle Worm and Morphing Jar for OTKs.
