Egyptian Gods Support

I've always found the Egyptian god support very lackluster in comparison to the other archetypes, not to mention the sacred beasts, which even though they aren't competitive still have received better support than the original Egyptian gods have. This was some support I thought of that helps fix a lot of the problems around the gods, going into the hard minus to summon them, having lackluster effects, and very poor support. If it's op plz let me know, I'll be updating every now and then and I always love feedback.

( one thing to note, I change the Ra's Disciple effect, to match the effects of the other disciple cards that I created, and to give more synergy to Ra )

First, the Egyption gods themselves

Obelisk the Tormentor

Level 10 / Divine / Divine-Beast / Effect

4000 attack / 4000 defense

Requires 3 Tributes to Normal Summon (cannot be Normal Set). This card's Normal Summon cannot be negated. When Normal Summoned, cards and effects cannot be activated. Cannot be targeted by Spells, Traps, or card effects. Once per turn, during the End Phase, if this card was Special Summoned: Send it to the Graveyard. You can Tribute 2 monsters; destroy all monsters your opponent controls. This card cannot declare an attack the turn this effect is activated.

Slifer the Sky Dragon

Level 10 / Divine / Divine-Beast / Effect

? attack / ? defense

Requires 3 Tributes to Normal Summon (cannot be Normal Set). This card's Normal Summon cannot be negated. When Normal Summoned, cards and effects cannot be activated. Once per turn, during the End Phase, if this card was Special Summoned: Send it to the GY. Gains 1000 ATK and DEF for each card in your hand. If a monster(s) is Normal or Special Summoned to your opponent's field in Attack Position: That monster(s) loses 2000 ATK, then if its ATK has been reduced to 0 as a result, destroy it.

The Winged Dragon of Ra

Level 10 / Divine / Divine-Beast / Effect

? attack / ? defense

Cannot be Special Summoned. Requires 3 Tributes to Normal Summon (cannot be Normal Set). This card's Normal Summon cannot be negated. When Normal Summoned, other cards and effects cannot be activated. When this card is Normal Summoned: You can pay LP so that you only have 100 left; this card gains ATK and DEF equal to the amount of LP paid. You can pay 1000 LP, then target 1 monster on the field; destroy that target.

And now, for the new support, intended to give them better synergy, less minuses, and better effects

Great Pyramids of the Egyptian Gods

Spell - Field

When this card is activated: add 1 Divine type monster from your deck to your hand, then you can add 1 “Disciple” monster from your deck or graveyard to your hand. You can normal summon Divine type monsters in addition to your normal summon or set any number of times per turn. “Obelisk the Tormentor”, “Slifer the Sky Dragon”, and “The Winged Dragon of Ra” can be normal summoned with 1 tribute instead of 3 tributes, if you are a tributing “Disciple” monster. “Sphere Mode” monsters can be summoned to either player’s field with any number of tributes ( min: 1, max: 3 ).

Great Shifts of the Egyptian Gods

Change the effects of the following monsters with these original names that you control to these effects

“Obelisk the Tormentor”: This card is unaffected by all card effects, except “Great Shifts of the Egyptian Gods”, you don’t skip your battle phase during the turn you activate this card’s effects, also you only need to tribute 1 monster to activate this card’s effect.

“The Winged Dragon of Ra”, This card gains 4000 attack, This card’s effect to destroy monsters can be applied during either player’s turn, also once per turn If you would activate this card’s effect to destroy a monster card, you can target and destroy any card your opponent controls instead.

1+ - gain 4000 lifepoints

Filling out the sphere mode monsters: I’ve always wondering why only Ra had a sphere mode to summoned himself from, why not the others?

The Winged Dragon of Ra - Sphere Mode

Level 10 / Divine / Divine-Beast / Effect

Requires 3 Tributes from either side of the field to Normal Summon to that side of the field (cannot be Normal Set), then shift control to this card's owner during the End Phase of the next turn. Cannot attack. Your opponent cannot target this card for attacks or by card effects. You can Tribute this card; Special Summon 1 "The Winged Dragon of Ra" from your hand or Deck, ignoring its Summoning conditions, and if you do, it's ATK/DEF become 4000. Monsters summoned by this effect are treated as if they were tribute summoned.

Same thing as the sphere modes: there was an immortal mode for Ra, but not for any of the other god cards. Why not have immortal versions of the others?

The Winged Dragon of Ra - Immortal Phoenix

Level 10 / Divine / Divine-Beast / Effect

4000 attack / 4000 defense

Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned by its own effect, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. Cards and effects cannot be activated in response to this effect's activation. This card is unaffected by other cards' effects. You can pay 1000 LP; send 1 monster on the field to the Graveyard. Slifer the Sky Dragon - Immortal Dragon

Level 10 / Divine / Divine-Beast

4000 attack / 4000 defense

Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned by its own effect, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. If "Slifer the Sky Dragon" is sent from the field to your Graveyard while this card is in your hand or Graveyard: Special Summon this card. Cards and effects cannot be activated in response to this effect's activation. This card is unaffected by other cards' effects. You can pay discard 1 card; send all monsters your opponent controls to the Graveyard with less than 4000 attack. Once per turn, during the End Phase: Send this card to the Graveyard, and if you do, Special Summon 1 "Slifer the Sky Dragon - Sphere Mode" from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard, ignoring its Summoning conditions.

Obelisk the Tormentor - Immortal Monolith

4000 attack / 4000 defense

Let’s get down to it:

I love Pyramids; it’s brilliant and flat out genius. But 1 Tribute for (in this case Ra) a 7900 ATK Monster is a bit op. Make it 2 and the card is pure gold.

Shift’s effect is really wordy; I’d change it to something like “Activate this card by targeting 1 monster you control whose original name is “Obelisk the Tormentor”, “The Winged Dragon of Ra”, or “Slifer the Sky Dragon”; apply one of these effects depending on the target: and continue. Also nerf the Slifer effect for that card; banishing stuff on summon multiple times is op in my opinion.

Decrees is actually fine. Not too bad.

Obelisk an Slifer’s Deciple I like, and I LOVE that buff errata you put on Ra’s Deciple. It needed it.

In short, the support is good, but some cards are a little too strong. Nice job!

thanks for the feedback! I think these changes will be good balancers for the original support, and a few new cards to support the new cards and make them even more cosistent

changes

shifts - slifers effect changed - no longer banishes cards, but does gain 1200 attack for every card in hand now rather than just 1000

new cards

obelisk / slifer / ra - secondary disciple monsters

I like the searching but maybe more to just have the gods added to the top of the deck. For the desciples, I would much rather have other card engines allow for cards to stay in the bottom of the deck(much like card trader and jar of avarice) then they themselves having to do it, but well well too much minus I guess. The game should have more tribute fodder card support and would rather want that then letting you summon a god for 1 tribute. Instead of Great Pyramids, how about Tomb of Aknamkanon?

I kinda like just having the 1 tribute since it allows the gods to swarm more rather than requiring two and only being able to bring out one ( consistently ) during your turn

some edits be done

- added the sphere modes

- added the immortal forms

( slight erratas to the original ra ones )

- changed the field spell for sphere mode synergy
