Normal Trap Card
You can only use each effect of this card’s name once per turn.
(1) Discard 1 “Metaphys” card: Draw 1 card, then you can banish 1 “Metaphys” monster from your Deck.
(2) If this card is banished: you can add 1 “Metaphys” card from your Deck to your hand, except “Metaphys Ascension”.

this card has some great synergy with the playstyle of the deck

 

- it draws cards ( always a good thing ), discarding rather than banishing isn't as good, but we already have a banish to draw card

- it banishes a metaphys monster straight from the deck ( gold sarc in trap form, makes sense for this archetype ) 

- when banished ( even by your own effect, good synergy ) search any metahpys card except itself? If you banish it with ragnarok it basically turns him into a stratos

 

its a good card, probably doesn't break the deck, but certainly makes it better

I think it's more likely it'll be used for Assymetaphys' effect, rather than being activated on its own, but regardless, seems like a decent enough card, seems like an odd moment to release this, more so of a card they could have used the first time around, doesn't really add much more, but a decent little thing, that ensures you'll be able to banish something even if your hand blows.

I mean, Gold Sarc being an immediate searcher rather than having to wait until the next Standby Phase is a real help.  Also Executor not minusing as hard on-summon should be beneficial as well.

 

Not having played the deck irl (and thus, take my words with a grain of salt), it feels like the deck has a bit of a U.A. Syndrome in really wanting another low level Metaphys that can start plays.  Anyone able to confirm/deny this?

yes. for the love of god(s) yes. the deck can get going a hell of a lot easier than U.A. can, but the problem  is still there. a second (or third) level 4 or lower, with some form of hand/grave banishing compatibility, would make the deck far more consistent than it is now, while also making executor far easier to drop.

Does the deck already use snow? If it didn't, it absolutely does now. Honestly, I don't care about that first effect and am just trying to think of the best was to banish it. Is necroface too excessive?

the deck doesn't use snow. it still really wouldn't much want to. can it get benefits? yeah, but there's a lot of stuff that they don't want to banish with snow. then again, lightsworns or BA mixed in with metaphys probably wouldn't be too far of a stretch, especially since they do need lower level monsters. and BA would give them the chaos engine, while lightsworns would give them solid level 4s and 3's to use while they got the metaphys going.
