Pardoning Manafort is likely an impeachable offense, and even if he were pardoned for past charges, he could still be slapped with new charges. If Manafort is expecting a pardon, his actions are reckless and stupid because it means he is purposefully committing crimes with the assumption that he will be pardoned for them. However, that fails to understand that pardons are not guaranteed, and would not protect him forever.

It is two weeks before Michael Cohen will be sentenced for his own charges, he will plead guilty for lying to Congress about his collusions with Russians.

Michael Cohen implicates Trump in his guilty plea. Prosecutors recommend that Cohen serves roughly four years in prison.

SCOTUS seems to maintain that if Manafort were to be charged again, even if he were to be pardoned, it would not violate double jeopardy.

1. Interesting.
2. Only for State charges, not Federal. Pardon would protect him Federally, as is currently the norm.

There's 3-4 votes for gamble already

Gorsuch, Thomas, Ginsburg, Sotomayor.

It's a matter of picking off a 5th vote

While not charged as a part of the Mueller probe, Maria Butina will be cooperating with federal prosecutors, and will plead guilty to acting on behalf of Russian operatives to influence U.S. politics.

EDIT:

As for someone who has been charged as part of the Mueller probe, Michael Cohen has been sentenced to three years in prison.

Mike Flynn's sentence hearing has begun for lying to the FBI about his contacts with Russian officials. The Judge tells Flynn that "Arguably, you sold your country out."

He also rescinds his previous claim that he was not aware that lying to the FBI was a crime.

Tangentially related, but the Trump Foundation will dissolve following "a shocking pattern of illegality", including using donations for campaign-related purposes, in direct violation of federal law.

Michael Cohen states that he hired a small IT firm to rig online polls at the direction and for the sole benefit of Trump. While the rigging was unsuccessful, it's still notable that he made effort at all.

Cohen plainly states that lying before Congress was also at Trump's direction, so Trump's crime here would be suborning perjury and obstruction of justice, which would be impeachable offenses.

Trump's comments attacking Cohen and Cohen's father-in-law may be broaching witness intimidation and tampering, and could constitute obstruction of justice, as Cohen would have reasonable fear for his family. While Cohen still intends to testify, these threats are completely out of line regardless.

Michael Cohen postpones testifying before Congress. His lawyer directly cited the witness intimidation that Trump and Giuliani have publicly committed.

The Senate Intelligence Committee has subpoenaed Cohen, compelling him testify regardless of his concerns.

Roger Stone has now been arrested as well, and is facing one count of obstruction, five counts of false statements, and one count of witness tampering. In particular, the indictment focuses on his contacts with Wikileaks and Julian Assange, and it mentions that "a senior Trump Campaign official was directed to contact Stone", referring to Stephen Bannon. Important choice of words is that Bannon was directed to do so.

Judge Amy Berman Jackson rules that Paul Manafort intentionally lied to the FBI, and as such, she has voided his plea deal. The special counsel's office is now free from any contractual obligations, such as supporting a reduced sentence, meaning Manafort can be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

Acting Senators are disputing the NBC report as misleading, or at least the headline, as well as disagreeing with Burr's comments, given that evidence has indeed come up of conspiracy. I mostly love the comment that nobody was going to find a letter signed in blood saying "Let's collude!" No, you're not going to get a full-fledged confession, but when several of Trump's associates have been indicted, arrested, and even sentenced, to claim that there is no evidence or collusion or conspiracy displays a willful ignorance of the facts.

Manafort and Gates both pled guilty to conspiracies both against and to defraud the United States, which are the legal terms that would accurately describe Russian collusion. Claiming that none of them were charged for Russian collusion is false.

Manafort and Gates pled guilty to money laundering they did in 2014 and before. Was Trump running for President and employing them before that?

Also it was with Ukrainians, not Russians.

The contacts with Ukrainians were apparently still meant to on behalf of Russia, and Paul Manafort's lies were about his contacts were with Konstantin Kilimnik, an alleged Russian spy who has been charged with obstruction of justice and conspiracy to obstruct justice.

So, Manafort and an Russian operative were both faced with collective charges. While the charges do predate that campaign, Gates and Manafort maintained contact during the Trump campaign, and even into his inauguration, which seems to be one of Mueller's next targets.
