Hi,

I'm new on this forum (Sorry if my English is not that good, since it's not my main language) and I got interested on the custom cards section, as I was working on a few Deck ideas for a while. Here I am, showing to you all my new idea ...

The Dreadnex Archetype

This Deck was made with the intention of being a consistent deck that uses discards and graveyard banishing to activate their monsters effects, varying from summoning to effect negating and card effect, also needing to create a field presence for some effects and summons, making the combos more strategic, since you can't be spending too much resources in hand or graveyard, or you gonna get stuck. This Deck also uses Fusion monsters with an alternative mechanic for summoning, but also keeping the expected formula to the get the monsters out. To adapt to the new Master Rule, I created a Link monster and a new monster that uses it for it's effect.

I am posting it here not only to show it, but to see if anyone can help me refine it, to expose possible overpowered OTKs and effects or even weak links that need to change for the improvement of the cards. You can critique any aspects of the archetype, I'm here to read all of your thoughs so I can make it more enjoyable. Also, if you just want to make a commentary on the Deck, card by card or as a whole, feel free to do it. I'm not an Yu-Gi-Oh! expert, so I can have some wild ideas that could break the meta, so that's why I'm asking you guys to help me to sort this out. Thank you for reading until here.

Now, let's go for the cards:

Obs: The cards don't have an artwork since I'm still planning and drawing, so as a finish them, I'm going to update here. I'm going to write the idea I have for their designs below their names.

Monsters:

Dreadnex Vamp

[A vampire girl with cybernetic acessories and gothic outfit]

ATK: 1900

DEF: 1200

Level: 5

Type: Zombie / Effect

Attribute: Wind

Effect: During either player's turn, you can target 1 "Dreadnex" card from your GY, banish it, and if you do, Special Summon this card from your hand. You can discard 1 card, then Special Summon 1 "Dreadnex" monster from the GY to your side of the field, except "Dreadnex" Fusion Monsters. You can activate each effect of "Dreadnex Vamp" once per turn, and only once that turn.

Comment: This is the main swarmer of the deck, getting monsters from the graveyard to the field to create a field presence and fusion summon monsters. Since it gets monsters on the field, it can be comboed with many of them.

Dreadnex Lycantrope

[A werewolf with cybernetic implatations and raging thirst for blood]

ATK: 2000

DEF: 1100

Level: 5

Type: Zombie / Effect

Attribute: Wind

Effect: During either player's turn, you can target 1 "Dreadnex" card from your GY, banish it, and if you do, Special Summon this card from your hand. You can send 1 "Dreadnex" card from your Deck to the GY. You can activate each effect of "Dreadnex" once per turn, and only once that turn.

Comment: This card is the one setting up plays for the others, getting cards into the graveyard so they can be banished. This card can combo well with "Malicious Doll" and "Adaline" + "Vamp" or "Walker".

Dreadnex Zomborg

[A giant undead cyborg protected with a cybernetic armor]

ATK: 1500

DEF: 2000

Level: 4

Type: Zombie / Effect

Attribute: Wind

Effect: Once per turn, you can target 1 "Dreadnex" card from your GY, banish it, and if you do, draw 1 card.

Comment: The main draw power of the deck, even though it's not that powerful because most of your banishing fodders will be used for swarming the field or card protection, but it can still be very useful.

Dreadnex Hollowed

[A headless phantom knight wielding a plasma blade above it's cybernetic horse]

ATK: 1600

DEF: 1000

Level: 4

Type: Zombie / Effect

Attribute: Wind

Effect: During your Main Phase, you can discard 1 card to your GY, the add 1 "Dreadnex" card from your Deck to the hand. You can activate this effect of "Dreadnex" once per turn, and only once that turn. This card gains 100 ATK for each "Dreadnex" monster in your GY.

Comment: This card can get banishing fodders while also getting new cards for your plays, making combos with it very versatile. Also, it can get some boost to do more damage to your opponent.

Dreadnex Lilim

[An young succubi wearing modern clothing and cybernetic acessories]

ATK: 900

DEF: 1500

Level: 3

Type: Zombie / Effect

Attribute: Wind

Effect: During your Main Phase, when a monster your opponent controls targets a "Dreadnex" monster(s) you control for an effect, you can discard 1 card to negate it's effect and destroy it. If you control a "Dreadnex" Link monster(s) you control, and destroy it. You can use this effect of "Dreadnex Lilim" once per turn.

Comment: This card was made to complement the "Adaline" Link monster's effect lockdown, being used to protect the cards while you still don't link summon.

Dreadnex Walker

[A decaying undead with cybernetic prothetics]

ATK: 1600

DEF: 0

Level: 3

Type: Zombie / Effect

Attribute: Wind

Effect: During your Main Phase, you can banish this card from hand, then Special Summon 1 "Dreadnex" monster from your GY, except "Dreadnex" Fusion monsters. You can activate this effect of "Dreadnex Walker" once per turn, and only once that turn. If this card was banished, when a "Dreadnex" monster is banished from your GY, Special Summon this card to your side of the field.

Comment: Even though the main monster for special summons is "Vamp", this card can also do this job, increasing the number of monster you can get on board faster, even benefitting from some effects of the archetype that banish monsters.

Dreadnex Malicious Doll

[A beautiful doll possessed by the vilest demon]

ATK: 2100

DEF: 1100

Level: 6

Type: Zombie / Effect

Attribute: Wind

Effect: Once per turn, if this card was sent from your Deck to the GY, you can Special Summon it to your side of the field. While this card is face-up on your side of the field, you can target it and a monster your opponent controls, banish both monsters, and if you do, Special Summon this card to your opponent side of the field in face-up defense position, but it can't change it's battle position the turn you activate this effect.

Comment: This card can get rid of those powerful opponent monsters, while also giving itself to them, but frustrating their plans. This card can also combo well with "Lycantrope", that can send it to graveyard and get summoned right way.

Adaline, the Creator of the Dreadnex

[An insane scientist lady with cybernetic acessories and steampunk-style clothes]

ATK: 2000

DEF: 2000

Level: 6

Type: Zombie / Effect

Attribute: Wind

Effect: While you control at least 1 face-up "Dreadnex" monster on the field, this card can't be targetted or destroyed by card effects. Once per turn, you can Special Summon 1 "Dreadnex" Fusion monster from your Extra Deck using monsters you control as Fusion Materials (This summon is treated as a Fusion Summon). While this card is face-up on the field, you can send this card from the field to your GY, then target 1 "Dreadnex" Fusion monster in your GY, Special Summon it to your side of the field, but it's effects are negated, also banish it when it leaves the field.

Comment: This is the main monster of the deck, used to get the fusion monster into the field, while also having a self-protection so the deck don't get crippled easily.

Spells:

The Software Becoming the Dev

[A Dreadnex Vamp being morphed into Adaline, with an Adaline silhoette behind her]

Type: Normal

Effect: This card is always treated as a "Dreadnex" Spell Card. Banish 1 face-up "Dreadnex" monster you control, then target 1 "Adaline, the Creator of the Dreadnex"on your hand or GY, Special Summon it to your side of the field.

Comment: Since the fusion summons on this archetype mostly resolves around "Adaline", this card was necessary to get it into the field fast for the plays.

Codeline of Horrors

[Thunderbolts from the storming sky, crashing into the ground, being the thunderbolts made of binary codes]

Type: Normal

Effect: This card is always treated as a "Dreadnex" Spell Card. If you control each "Dreadnex" monster's card type (Non-Extra, Fusion and Link) face-up on the field, destroy all cards your opponent controls. You can't Special Summon a monster the turn you activate this effect. After this card effect was activated and resolved this turn, banish it, but if it was negated, return it into the Deck.

Comment: This is like a stronger version of Raigeki for the archetype, but how to make it more worth then the Raigeki itself? Backrow destruction!

The Dreadnexus

[A technological laboratory with monsters inside water tanks and binary codes instead of bubbles]

Type: Field

Effect: This card is always treated as a "Dreadnex" Spell Card. All "Dreadnex" monsters you control gain 100 ATK for each "Dreadnex" card face-up on the field. Once per turn, if a "Dreadnex" card you control would be destroyed by a card effect, you can banish 1 "Dreadnex" card from your GY, instead. If this card leaves the field, target 1 banished "Dreadnex" card, add it to your hand.

Comment: This is a complete field spell for the archetype, it has card protection, stat boosting and card searching when it leaves the field.

Immediate Dreadnex Fusion

[A Polymerization-like artwork with the vortex made of lightning bolts and binary codes]

Type: Quick-Play

Effect: This card is always treated as a "Dreadnex" Spell Card. Fusion Summon 1 "Dreadnex" Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck by banishing monsters from your side of the field or GY. You can only activate 1 "Immediate Dreadnex Fusion" per turn.

Comment: Since getting "Adaline, the Creator of the Dreadnex" and all the fusion materials out on the field can be quite troublesome, I created a quick-spell to swiftly put a fusion monster on the field to get the plays rolling faster.

Traps:

Reanimating Program

[A Dreadnex Lycantrope is getting out of a broken water tank, with a vapor coming out of it]

Type: Continuous

Effect: This card is always treated as a "Dreadnex" Trap Card. Each time a "Dreadnex" Fusion Monster is Special Summoned, you can return 1 "Dreadnex" card that was banished to the GY.

Comment: Different from "Reboot Space", this card was made to reuse "Dreadnex" card for summons or card effects while synergizing with your field control through fusions.

Revenge Arrives by Transmission

[A Dreadnex Hollowed is riding through a cybernetic bridge wielding a plasma blade in attack mode]

Type: Counter

Effect: This card is always treated as a "Dreadnex" Trap Card. If you control 1 "Dreadnex Hollowed" or "Dreadnex Phantom Rider" on your side of the field, if it's effect was activated and an opponent card effect would negate it, negate the activation of your opponent's card and destroy it, also you can add 1 "Adaline, the Creator of the Dreadnex" from your GY or Deck to the hand, instead.

Comment: This card last effect is to specifically search for "Adaline" anywhere (except if banished) and fusion summon it into "Adaline, the Mastermind of the Dreadnex" with "Immediate Dreadnex Fusion", but you can also discard it for an effect for then special summon it with "Vamp" or "Walker"

Seduction Beyond Erase

[A Dreadnex Vamp is blowing a kiss, with a cyberspace vortex behind her]

Type: Counter

Effect: This card is always treated as a "Dreadnex" Trap Card. If you control 1 "Dreadnex Vamp" or "Dreadnex Lunar Vampire" on your side of the field, if it's effect was activated and an opponent card effect would negate it, negate the activation of your opponent's card and destroy it, and if you do, you can Special Summon 1 banished "Dreadnex" monster, instead.

Comment: This card was made to protect "Vamp" and it's fusion from negation effect, but also give you the opportunity of getting back that banished monster used on an effect.

Dragging Souls To The Bin

[A Dreadnex Malicious Doll is climbing through a bottomless hole with cybernetic walls, in a scary manner]

Type: Counter

Effect: This card is always treated as a "Dreadnex" Trap Card. If you control 1 "Dreadnex Malicious Doll" or "Dreadnex Malevolent Revenant" on your side of the field, if it's effect was activated and an opponent card effect would negate it, negate the activation of your opponent's card and destroy it, and if you do, you can send all copies of that card in your opponent's Deck to the GY, instead.

Comment: This is "Malicious Doll" version of the Chain Destruction card but for cards that would negate it's main effect.

Reboot Space

[The same hole featured on "Dragging Souls Into The Bin" is now with streams of light coming out of it and words "Rebooting..." written on the wall]

Type: Normal

Effect: This card is always treated as a "Dreadnex" Trap Card. Banish 1 "Adaline" monster from your side of the field, and if you do, return any number of "Dreadnex" cards removed from play into your Deck and shuffle it, then draw 1 card.

Comment: Since this archetype relies a lot in banishing "Dreadnex" cards, this card can refuel your usage of those effects, but it doesn't bring back to the graveyard to create a slow down for the deck.

Extra Deck Monsters:

Dreadnex Lunar Vampire

[A vampire woman with cybernetic armor similar to "Dreadnex Lycantrope's", wearing futuristic gothic clothes]

ATK: 2600

DEF: 2000

Level: 7

Type: Cyberse / Fusion / Effect

Attribute: Wind

("Dreadnex Vamp" + "Dreadnex Lycantrope")

Effect: This card must first be Fusion Summoned (from the Extra Deck) using the above cards. Once per turn, you can discard 1 card, excavate cards from the top of your Deck (min.2) until you draw a "Dreadnex" card, banish it, and if you do, Special Summon 1 "Dreadnex" monster from your GY, also add 1 card excavated with this effect to the hand and send the rest to the GY.

Comment: This card is brings both monsters' effects but in a different way, now with the possibility of trading cards from hand to a better maneuver of this archetype effects, while also bringing a monster with a considerable ATK power.

Dreadnex Phantom Rider

[A centaur-like upgraded giant cyborg with legs of a mechanical horse wielding a plasma greatsword]

ATK: 2100

DEF: 2000

Level: 7

Type: Cyberse / Fusion / Effect

Attribute: Wind

("Dreadnex Hollowed" + "Dreadnex Zomborg")

Effect: This card must first be Fusion Summoned (from the Extra Deck) using the above cards. Once per turn, you can add 1 "Dreadnex" card from your Deck to the hand. You can't declare an attack with this monster the turn you activate this effect. This card gains 200 ATK and DEF for each "Dreadnex" monster in your GY; If this card destroys a monster by battle and sends it to GY, draw 1 card.

Comment: This card is a mixture of both materials effects making it a two-in-one monster, but this time gaining it's draw power through a beatdown strategy.

Dreadnex Malevolent Revenant

[An undead monster wearing pieces of a doll around its body like an armor, also the doll face as a mask, with even more technological prosthetics]

ATK: 2600

DEF: 1000

Level: 6

Type: Cyberse / Fusion / Effect

Attribute: Wind

("Dreadnex Malicious Doll" + "Dreadnex Walker")

Effect: This card must be first be Fusion Summoned (from the Extra Deck) using the above cards. You can target this face-up card on your side of the field and 1 monster your opponent controls, banish both, and if you do, Special Summon 1 "Dreadnex" monster from your GY, except "Dreadnex" Fusion monsters. During your End Phase, choose 1 of these effects to activate after this card effect:

  • Banish 1 face-up "Dreadnex" monster on the field. If you don't have any, skip your next Draw Phase.
  • Special Summon this card in face-up defense position to your opponent side of the field. It can't change it's battle position the turn you activate this effect.

You can only activate each effect of "Dreadnex Malevolent Revenant" once per turn, and only once that turn.

Comment: This card is an upgrade version of "Malicious Doll" with a free special summon and an alternative drawback that can still make it worth using.

Adaline, the Mastermind of the Dreadnex

[A powerful scientist lady with steampunk outfit and even more technological gadgets, armoring her body with cyber acessories]

ATK: 2500

DEF: 2500

Level: 8

Type: Cyberse / Fusion / Effect

Attribute: Wind

("Adaline, the Creator of the Dreadnex" + 2 "Dreadnex" monsters)

Effect: This card must first be Fusion Summoned (from the Extra Deck) using the above cards. You can Fusion Summon this card by sending the above cards from your side of the field to the GY (You do not use Fusion Spell cards). Once per turn, you can activate 1 of these effects:

  • Special Summon 1 "Dreadnex" monster from your Deck.
  • Discard 1 card, negate the activation of a card or effect your opponent controls that targets a "Dreadnex" monster(s).
  • Special Summon 1 "Dreadnex" Fusion monster using monsters on your side of the field or GY (This summon is treated as Fusion Summon). Banish that monster when it leaves the field.

You can activate each effect of "Adaline, the Mastermind of the Dreadnex" once per turn, and only once that turn.

Comment: This card is an improvement of "Adaline, the Creator of the Dreadnex" that is not as easy to summon as the other monsters but can give a good reward, since she can the still special summon  fusion monster but also special summon possible fusion materials and can protect your field against those pesky card removals.

Adeline, the Developer of the Dreadnex

[A scientist lady wearing now a futuristic outfit, with cybernetical acessories around her]

ATK: 2000

Link Rating: 2

Link Marker: Bottom-Left / Bottom-Right

Type: Cyberse / Link / Effect

Attribute: Wind

(2 "Dreadnex" monsters)

Effect: This card can be Link Summoned by using a "Dreadnex" Fusion monster as 2 Link Materials. If this card was summoned this way, when your opponent activates a card or effect while you control a "Dreadnex" monster(s), send 1 monster this card points to into the GY, negate the activation and destroy the card. While this card is face-up on the field, you can Special Summon 1 "Dreadnex" Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck or GY to a zone this card points to, ignoring it's summoning condition, but send this card to your GY, when it resolves. You can activate each effect of "Adaline, the Developer of the Dreadnex" once per turn, and only once that turn.

Comment: Since this deck relies on fusion spamming, a link monster was necessary for that. Also it can give card effect protection and switch places with a fusion monster when you need to OTK the opponent or just want a different effect for the time.

That's it, I hope you all enjoyed this archetype I made.

Going to have to say this set is somewhat on the weak side. You don't really have the speed or the consistency within the card to actually properly get to the boss; you only have one searcher among your monsters, and while you do have a little theme among your first two of getting them out from your hand, the rest of them simply do stuff while they're on the field, without majorly plussing your or doing that much to advance your plays. You have some protection, and some removal, but you're going to have to rely on your Spells/Traps to get anywhere, which don't even support you that much either. I like the theming of Software/Zombies, also WIND...but you don't have the strength. Hey, you barely even have removal among your MD monsters and S/T. Speaking of your Spells, Becoming the Dev doesn't help as much as you think; yes, you don't have ways of getting her out of your hand or GY quickly, but it doesn't solve the problem of her remaining in your Deck. I also don't understand Lilim's second effect. What does it do?

Basically, just works on speed and consistency. I'll give this set another look to see if the Fusions work then.

I was sleepy last night when I did this topic and I didn't saw that I screwed up my "Dreadnex Lilim" effect, making it's second effect confusing, sorry!

Here is the errata:

Dreadnex Lilim

Effect: During your Main Phase, when a monster your opponent controls targets a "Dreadnex" monster(s) you control for an effect, you can discard 1 card to negate it's effect and destroy it. If you control a "Dreadnex" Link monster, you can also negate the effects of a Spell/Trap card that targets a "Dreadnex" monster(s) you control, and destroy it. You can use this effect of "Dreadnex Lilim" once per turn.

I'm not going to update this topic so soon since I will gather more tips you guys tell me, but just with the first reply of DoaHusando (Thank you for the overview!) I can already see I have a lot to work on. Also, thanks for everyone that will post here for at least giving a look at the set I'm making,
