Snowballing Momentum

[Continuous Spell]

 

When a monster you control destroys an opponent's monster by battle: Place 1 Snowball Counter on this card. During the end of each Phase: All monsters you currently control gain ATK equal to 100x the number Snowball Counters on this card + 100.

Without any counters on this card, this does amount to roughly 600 ATK per turn at max, assuming that no Phases are skipped voluntarily or by an effect. If it were at the end of your turn or something, it'd be okay (albeit being removal bait). Since it triggers during both player's turns, yeah, by the end of your next turn, your monsters are probably going to have +1K more. That assumes your monsters are still alive though. 

 

Thematically, it works since snowballs do get much larger as they roll down, but for the game, the increasing boost is a bit much.

To clarify though, did you intend for this to start boosting strength the turn you activate it, even without counters on it?

Yep I wanted there to be boost even without a battle destruction. Hence why I put the unusual "+100" there. Otherwise, the card would be too weak IMO.

What does the "100x the number Snowball Counters on this card + 100." mean? How much ATK would your monster gain after 1 phase?

 

If it is a lot, you could always remove it with stuff like Twin Twisters and other Spell/Trap removal. If it isn't a lot, then there's no worry for your opponent I guess.

 

But let's say you destroy 1 monster by battle. There's two or three Phases afterwards in your turn. How much ATK would your monster(s) gain?

So I'm assuming that this effect would be best placed if you already have a monster with 2000+ atk out already. So turn 1 gives a realistic boost of about 200 without the use of swarming effects. This card seems viable to have at least 1 heavy hitter out on the field and have your smaller monsters of 2000- continue getting boosted so they can be out on the field long enough to get the desired strategy. This would also go over nicely with big boosters like Mage Power, United We Stand, Metalmorph and Maha Vailo.
