Osiris the Ascending Sky Dragon

Level 10

DIVINE

Divine-Beast/Effect

0/0

Requires 3 Tributes to Normal Summon (cannot be Normal Set). This card's Normal Summon cannot be negated. When Normal or Special Summoned, cards and effects cannot be activated. If this card is Summoned: draw 1 card. Once per turn, during your opponent's End Phase, if this card was Special Summoned: Send it to the GY. Gains 1000 ATK and DEF for each card in your hand. If a monster(s) is Normal or Special Summoned to your opponent's field: That monster(s) loses 2000 ATK, then if its ATK has been reduced to 0 as a result, destroy it.

[spoiler=Design Notes]I felt obligated to change this card's name back to how it should be since "Slifer" is not an Egyptian god but instead the executive producer of the yugioh dub. It was very unfitting for him to rename an egyptian god card after himself. As for the card's use in advanced format. I wanted to make a viable Slifer Osiris. It functions as a lockdown card by preventing your opponent from getting materials out for a summon. Also, it lets you draw on summon so it can have higher ATK and you can reclaim some of the cost of summoning it. Sacred Crane has a similar effect and has never been used in loops so I think that this effect is fine without a HOPT. Being send to the GY during your opponent's End Phase means that it can be used for 1 turn even if special summoned. The fact that monster reborn is limited to 1 rather then banned means that this card being able to be special summoned is a double edged sword.

Note: no longer see a no DIVINE monster rule in the advanced rulebook. However if I missed it, I justify posting this in advanced since it isn't a new DIVINE monster. Also, The Winged Dragon of Ra did have multiple versions. Finally we are allowed to post retrains of existing cards in advanced.

I told you this in the Obelisk thread, but if you're suggesting these changes Winter, you need to explain why you're making them. Just posting your suggested fixes without providing qualitative explanations isn't a review.

Quote me next time Sakura

1) More incentive to run the original three god, and offers an alternative path to summon the advanced gods

2) Target protection should have been universal to the gods, each god was immune to one type of card in the original source material

3) Builds back advantage and helps bolster Slifer's attack to respectable amounts

4) More incentive to run the original three gods, and offers recovery in case your investment is removed
