[ANIME] Did Konami just give up on Gouki?

(At the time of this posting, the effects of Gore's new "Dinowrestlers" have yet to be revealed, I will update this post when we get those effects.)

I came across this video on YouTube, and it made me a little confused. Apparently in the VRAINS Anime, Gore (Go Onizuka) for some reason is no longer using his Gouki monsters but instead he's using Dinowrestlers, and they look like Extreme Dinosaurs (for any 90's babies like myself who can remember). What confuses me is why this was done in the Anime and if it is what Gore's character will we using for the remainder of this series (if not this season), because the theme is the same but the Type is different ("Gouki" Warriors and "Dinowrestler" Dinosaurs)? Maybe its because nobody in the OCG is playing the Goukis enough for Konami to keep supporting them so they want to move on to something else, maybe this is a one-time thing for Gore in the Anime and he'll get his Goukis back later, right now I don't know what is going on but I will wait for them to get released in the OCG/TCG to see how I like them.

That'd be pretty ironic given the Gouki Knightmare craze of late, which may well be the best deck in the TCG right now.

I wouldn't mind if they were put out to pasture, if they had too many more names they could be a problem given their shared float effect and Dinowrestlers are something I can get behind. I just hope Trickstars get discontinued tbh.

I do really want to know what the effects of these Dinowrestlers will be, maybe we can get a Dinosaur Link Spam Deck from them and the cards from Dinosmasher's Fury.

While he's not the first character to switch archetypes, it it a pretty big surprise to see this, that being said, f***ing DINOSAURS THOUGH. Alright, I don't even know what they do yet, haven't seen the episode, but Link Dinosaurs are going to be a lot of fun.

EXTREME, EXTREME, Extreme Dinosaurs!

I also wonder if Konami decides to axe Trickstars as well, hell why not give Yusaku a different Ace Monster (Firewall Dragon), that happened in GX when Jaden got Neos after he was playing Flame Wingman as his ace before.

More incline to think rather than giving up Goukis Konami actually Satisfied with them. It become part of Meta in OCG & (soon) TCG, and arguebly at its peak already showcase the character that pilot it. So will all those promising premise in metagame and the undergo character development i think the switch is understandable

That being said more Dinosaur is Welcome...now konami can you make pyros and reptiles relevant again?

at least the anime gave a valid reason as to why he gave up on them. but ya I think Konami gave up on them and unfortunately too they were my my favorites out of the 3 good character decks.

if you watch the intro right before the Code Talkers all appear a new blacked out dragon flies over the screen. This might be his new Dragon or an upgraded Firewall dragon
