Question

Hello,

On the main web browser I use (Safari) I am unable to open up spoiler tags to view them. I can do so just fine in Chrome but not in Safari. I haven't had any system updates lately so this is probably the result of something changing with the site coding that has caused this. While I've only noticed this in the last couple days, I haven't tried viewing spoilers while not on mobile for the last week or so, so the cause might be further back.

If anybody has any answers for this problem, that would be appreciated, as I make use of spoilers quite frequently as an RPer.

Edit: Another issue I've noticed since posting this is that sometimes I'll be unable to use links to move away from the page I'm on, even the one in the top left that lets you go back to the home page.

Sounds like I'm not the only one experiencing issues, though it seems the links are a cross-browser problem. With Pale Moon it sounds like the site's almost unworkable, depending on if you do a lot of formatting. Has that just been happening in the last couple of days, or this an on-and-off thing?

Hopefully we'll only be temporarily using the older IP board if that's what's causing the issues for everyone.

I tried it on my desktop (which I'm writing this on right now); yeah, even Firefox is giving problems.

As for the second question, seems to have happened on a regular basis the last couple of days. Haven't gotten this problem until this week. When did this start happening for you?

Okay so sounds like it's a universal issue then. Only the last couple of days for me, too. But I wasn't sure if similar things have happened before for people and I just had never noticed that. I'm not always up-to-date on site-wide issues, alas.

From what it sounds like, the less popular or maybe just "newer" browsers are the ones that are getting slammed with the spoiler tag problem, which makes sense if we went back to an older software.

While I haven't seen the spoiler thing, as I use Chrome.

Yeah, I've had this issue as well. Sometimes left-clicking on links doesn't work. Right-clicking and selecting "open in new tab" works fine, but nothing on the main page, or sometimes other pages, ends up being clickable sometimes.

Confirming that I don't get the spoiler tag issue, but left-clicking links doesn't work either a lot of the time without refreshing the page. (This being tested on my Chromebook and upstairs PC). I haven't tried Firefox though, but hopefully that doesn't yield the same problem.

If this is still a problem, I suppose try the other spoiler code Tormey added.

Do either you have Safari so you can check to see what happens?

Also, that last thing wouldn't really work given that this would mean they can't open other spoilers people post.

@@Tormented You got any ideas?

99% sure it's just the outdated forum software, we are currently running IP.Board 3.4.9 vs 4.3.2 which was released two days ago. It still functions but occasionally it will hang on certain queries and freeze everything up, really not much that can be done about it, it's also possible that the server the site is ran on is under heavy load, which sometimes might be the cause but again not much can be done on that front.

I've had similar but worse issues since I run Pale Moon. I can't open spoilers, and when I click on my notifications icon it doesn't drop down it just leads me to the notif page. I don't know about clicking links but in general, anything that would modify a page without taking me to a new webpage doesn't seem to work for me.

For example, the post I'm typing right now, I'm typing on a plain box. There's no options to bold/italics/underline or modify text in any way, that part of the text window just doesn't show.

http://prntscr.com/jgxbs8 kinda like this

It's been a problem for the past few days but since it's Pale Moon I wasn't expecting anyone else to have a problem with it as well.
