This deck is a combination of the decks Yugi and Joey used in their duel against the Paradox Brothers, plus a few extra cards for the modern generation.

Aside from Monster Reborn, this is a pretty legit deck for those nostalgia buffs, when played correctly. So, what do you guys think?

While I appreciate the intent of nostalgia with this deck, I think it's best to focus more on the retrain variants. So I'll try to make some suggestions while largely respecting the intent of this deck.

 

- Had to look this up to be certain, but I believe Kojikocy did not show up during the Paradox Brothers duel, so I don't believe it fits the theme at all. Typically, it's main uses have always seemed to be that Joey sets it and then it immediately gets destroyed. Even with the sense of nostalgia, I don't believe it particularly stands out much to warrant inclusion here, so it could easily be replaced in light of something else.

 

- I'm actually surprised you didn't include Dark Sage here? You already have Dark Magician and Time Wizard in this deck, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to add it here, and given its appearance in Yugi and Joey's duel, it's a perfect fit, even if it perhaps distracts from the Black Skull Dragon focus.

 

- I don't think you need both the basic Celtic Guardian and Obnoxious Celtic Guard, so I would replace the basic one with Celtic Guard of Noble Arms.

 

- Monster Reborn is Limited again, so you may not need to worry about that.

 

- Archfiend Black Skull Dragon ostensibly has the same materials as the original B. Skull Dragon, and Archfiend is superior, so I would say removed the original version, then replace it with Dark Flare Knight to expand the Yugi & Joey team-up theme. After that, it's up to you to decide if you want to include Mirage Knight as well.

 

- Replace Red-Eyes Black Dragon with the Black Flare version. It's a Gemini, making it more versatile, and it would be the intended material for Archfiend Black Skull Dragon.

 

- Similarly, I don't think you need the original Summoned Skull when you have the other versions? So I would suggest replacing the original with Skilled Red Magician, because it is the Skilled Magician for Summoned Skull, though its effect is broad enough to support the Archfiends of Lightning.

 

 

I might make some more suggestions later, but I'll leave with these for now. Feel free to challenge any of these suggestions if they disrupt your goals too much here.

I appreciate the feedback, but let's not forget Dark Sage is one of the more impossible monsters to summon, Remember, the Time wizard's coin toss effect has to be called right in order to summon Dark Sage. And if it's called wrong, both monsters are destroyed, resulting in 1500 points of damage to your own life points. 

 

That is not a bad idea, replacing the basic Celtic Guardian with Celtic Guard of Noble Arms.

 

Also, another good suggestion about Dark Flare Knight. It did help Yugi and Joey in their duel against the Big 5.

 

And the Skilled Red Magician and Black Flare Dragon cards are a nice replacement for the ReBD and Summoned Skull. Hmmm... With Red-Eyes Fusion, Archfiend Skull Dragon would be treated as REBD, So that would be good for REDD.
