Hello, fine peoples!
 
Here's the prompt I was working with:
 

Wellspawn (Gravity Well Spawn)

Wellspawn is an archetype consisting of DARK Fiend monsters whose main focus is on swarming the field, and then manipulate their levels based on the amount of Wellspawn you control. They also give secondary effects to Wellspawn Xyz monsters that use them as material.

Each Wellspawn Xyz monster can be Xyz summoned using more than 2 monsters. And Wellspawn Xyz monsters can use different effects based on the amount of Xyz materials they have attached. Some even allow themselves to rank-up into other Wellspawn monsters if they reach a certain number of materials

All Well Spawn Spell/Trap cards are continuous, and also get effects based on the amount of Wellspawn monsters that you control. The archetype also has a field spell that would be able to help replenish the materials of Wellspawn monsters

 
I started this prompt with interest and a direction, then I thought of something cool which made me lose my initial direction, then was bogged down with irl work for days, then finished this out of obligation rather than any real interest in it.  So, if the whole thing feels a bit disjointed, that'd be the reason.
 
I also feel like I completely lost grips with a consistent scale of power.  I think my MD monsters are all pretty close and my continuous Spells/Traps, but then I came back to the Field Spell and the ED monsters much later, making them feel a bit more inconsistent and variable in overall strength.  That and my old tendency to make a deck do everything came back and bit me in the end.

- Once per turn: you can detach up to 2 Xyz Materials from this card; add an equal number of "Wellspawn" cards from your Deck to your hand.

An Xyz Deck with all different levels?  Yeah, this was the aforementioned "something cool" that I'd wanted to run with in regards to this deck.  All of them have fairly easy conditions to put themselves on the board enabling explosive plays like the Cyberse cards.  The rest of it pretty much works like the prompt: giving effects to their Xyz counterparts.

Continuous Spell
You can only control 1 "Wellspawn Brood Pit".  You can add 1 "Wellspawn" monster from your Deck to your hand whose Level is equal to the number of Fiend monsters you control.  If you control 2 or more "Wellspawn" monsters: this card cannot be destroyed.
 
Wellspawn Armory
Continuous Spell
This card gains the following effects depending on the number of "Wellspawn" monsters you control:
- 1+: All Fiend monsters you control gain 300 ATK and DEF.
- 2+: If a Fiend monster you control battles: destroy the opponent's monster at the end of damage calculation.
- 3+: The first time each Fiend monster you control would be destroyed each turn, by battle or card effect, it is not destroyed.
- 4+: Once per turn: you can target 1 Spell/Trap your opponent controls; destory it.
- 5: Destroy this card and all monsters your opponent controls.
 
Wellspawn Wellspring
Continuous Spell
When you Summon a Fiend monster: gain 500 LP.  If this card is destroyed, activate the appropriate effect depending on the number of "Wellspawn" monsters you control when this card is destroyed.
- 1+: Inflict 300 damage to your opponent equal to the number of Fiend monsters you control
- 2+: draw 1 card
- 3+: Set 1 "Wellspawn" Spell/Trap from your Deck (except "Wellspawn Refreshing")
- 4+: Banish a number of cards from your opponent's Graveyard up to the number of Fiend monsters you control.
- 5: All monsters you control gain 100 ATK x their level until the End Phase.
 
Wellspawn Torment Pit
Continuous Trap
This card gains the following effects depending on the number of "Wellspawn" monsters you control:
- 1+: All monsters your opponent controls lose 100 ATK and DEF for each Fiend monster you control.
- 2+: Each player must pay 500 LP to Summon a non-Fiend monster.
- 3+: Once per turn: you can target 1 monster your opponent controls; reduce the level of all Fiend monsters you control by the level of the target, and if you do, negate that target's effects.
- 4+: You can shuffle any number of Fiend monsters you control into your Deck; shuffle an equal number of Set cards your opponent controls into the Deck.
- 5: Destroy this card and halve your opponent's LP.
 
Wellspawn's Living Overlay
Continuous Trap
When you Xyz Summon a Fiend monster using "Wellspawn" monsters you control, Special Summon a number of Wellspawn Tokens (Fiend/DARK/Level 1/ATK 0/DEF 0) up to the number of "Wellspawn" monsters used for that Summon.  The levels of all "Wellspawn Tokens" you control equal the original level of all "Wellspawn" monsters you control.  If a Fiend monster you control would be destroyed, you can destroy 1 "Wellspawn Token" instead.  If this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: you can banish this card from the Graveyard; add 1 "Wellspawn" card from your Graveyard to your hand.
 
The Dark Domain of Wellspawn
Field Spell
During the End Phase of a turn you Xyz Summoned a Fiend monster: you can target 1 Fiend Xyz monster you control; draw cards equal to the number of its Xyz Materials.  Once per turn: You can attach 1 "Wellspawn" monster from your hand or side of the field to an Xyz Monster you control.  Xyz monsters you control with 5 or more Xyz Materials are unaffected by your opponent's card effects.

 

 

 

The main way to retain advantage.  I wanted to give the deck 2 main ways to play: Spam and use the Continuous cards to help solidify their mediocre fields and push for chip damage, or go into the boss Xyzs and use their control or aggro effects to hit the opponent hard.  "Living Overlay" was, admittedly, a bit of an afterthought, but it was a way I thought to be able to go into the Xyzs without losing out on all the benefits given by the rest of the Continuous cards.

Wellspawn Overlord Menatuthanth

This card gains the combined original ATK of all its Xyz Materials.  Other monsters you control cannot declare an attack.  If the combined Levels of all monsters you control exceed the combined Levels of all monsters your opponent controls: negate the effects of all monsters your opponent controls.  This card is unaffected by Spell/Trap effects that do not target it.  You can only Special Summon Fiend monsters.  This card's effects cannot be negated.

The power of the Deck.  The fact that you have to detach 2 Mats for each jump is mitigated by the field spell and, more importantly, by the level 4, whose effect is a soft-OPT, enabling each transformation to reattach 1 of the Mats lost (effectively making each jump just a detach 1).  The Rank 5 and 6 mirror the level 5/6 Naturia Synchros.  The Rank 7 is a way of using all those GY resources you're likely to have.  And the Rank 1 is my typical "lets just make an impractical beatstick boss for no reason".  The Rank 4... was really just there as a foil to the Rank 5/6, dealing with monsters while the others take care of the backrow.  It is a viable boss in its own right, but like the Rank 1, not the most practical thing to use unless you just want to use it to jump into the higher Ranks.

 

For anyone wondering, the monsters' names came from Seventh Sanctum's "Evil-Sounding Name Generator".  For all your evil-sounding name needs!
