Hey, just been looking through most of the votes. Firstly, just a big wow and thanks. Didn't realize I had really made such an impression outside of custom cards, and with already over 10 votes from members I barely knew before this year, as someone who is very self-conscious it really makes me feel better.

 

However, my main point is about how the Cardmaker Star works. People are going to vote cardmakers they know and have gotten to know, true, but the problem there is that many of the people who will vote here aren't ones who frequent custom cards. I really don't think that I would've got this much support if I hadn't ventured out into the RP section, and started interacting a lot off-site with other members. If I'm being honest, there are plenty of other members who I think have been better cardmakers on-site than I have, such as Toyo, Black D'Sceptyr, and Darj (who I really would recommend) along with many other users in both advanced and casual, and so I kinda feel bad about receiving all of the support simply because people know me, especially as I haven't been active there in recent weeks.

 

I'm probably missing the point here. Maybe said point is just that; a cardmaker whom people know and like, a category I apparently fit and shouldn't complain about. But at the very least, I would recommend checking out some of the above users' work, and perhaps dancing around CC a little. Maybe I shouldn't even be posting this here????

To be honest that's much more impressive to me than just simply being good at making the cards themselves.

I voted for you, Dova, for pretty much the same reasons as Black; you want to keep improving at your design and aren't afraid to try new stuff out. Even offline, you're still asking for suggestions about things (i.e. your takes on Fur Hire support on Discord). Then again, a lot of the reviews you make are generally insightful and usually help rest of us improve.

 

Also taking into consideration how much you've helped out in the area, well, least in terms of getting Advanced Multiples some reviews and all, despite your offline commitments. In terms of all the members who've posted in Custom Cards lately, yeah, you have the most consistent track record of putting in work (at least in terms of helping members improve as opposed to just making stuff). This is what I was looking in when making a decision.

 

I keep tabs on everyone who posts in the area and out of all, you met the criteria best.

​You see darling, the thing is General is where the YCM Awards have been hosted, at least since last year, so in the spirit of making this a regular broadcast, our producers stated that we were to shoot it here. However, the event does get fairly frequent advertising (usually by your fabulous host, yours truly), which helps the concern about visibility. In fact, my next scheduled advertisement is in just a couple of hours!
