Onus of the Sacrificed

[Continuous Trap]

Activate this card by Tributing 1 monster you control; monsters your opponent control lose ATK equal to the original ATK of the Tributed monster.

[spoiler=Notes of Design]So to clarify any confusion... The card is suppose to make any of your opponent's monsters lose the ATK so as long as it is on the field.

Too vulnerable, too slow, and too ineffective, which is a shame because I think it is one of the most Trap-like Traps out there. Really cool for battle play shenanigans in the battle step, but one of the things that I find the most interesting about this card is that it allows you to tag a monster out of being destroyed by battle, if attacked. No battle damage for you. I mean, more cards work on being destroyed instead of being Tributed, and most of the time you will be Tributing another of your monsters in the Damage Step when replay can't occur, in order to prank your opponent into being destroyed by that battle, but yeah.

Issue with the card is well, it's a Trap Card (so prone to being sniped) and generally requires you to Tribute a moderately strong monster to really make use of the power drop. Granted, something like 800 is usually enough to soften stuff up, so...

At least it's a permanent drop, similar to Burden but less reliant on the opponent's monsters. If you wanted to be crazy, you could just Tribute off a Kaiju the opponent gave you, then watch their stuff get dropped 2200 or more and block them from triggering things.

IDK, I want to say make it a Spell instead so you're not stuck waiting a turn, but then you don't really have a lot of options by that time to Tribute out.

Tbh, there's nothing wrong with this. In Blue-Eyes, if you Tribute almost any of your monsters, your opponent is just going to be screwed unless they have MST. That opens your opponent up to take A LOT of damage and sets up OTKs easily. Even in Decks that don't have high ATK they at least have monsters with 2000+ ATK, which is more than enough. Tbh I think this card is great because the way you tend to get around Negate-esc monsters is by battle without activating card effects, and if you activate this beforehand then they can't really screw with it other than by destroying it.

Reminds me of Wall of Disruption and Wall of Revealing Light, or I guess Mirror Wall considering it plays a similar role.
