This is a card that started off with the condition of not being able to Special Summon monsters, except in Defense Position if you activated an effect, then it turned into a Tuner that worked well for Superheavy Samurais and Machine Decks in general. This card simply Special Summons itself by discarding a card, but if you discarded a Machine monster, you also get to add a Level 3 or lower Machine from your Deck to your hand, though in that case, you can't Special Summon, except in Defense Position for the rest of the turn, which doesn't matter too much for Superheavy Samurai, since they attack in Defense Position.

 

If you control no monsters in your Extra Monster Zone: You can discard 1 card; Special Summon this card from your hand, then if you discarded a Machine monster, you can add 1 Level 3 or lower Machine monster from your Deck to your hand, but if you do, you cannot Special Summon monsters, except in Defense Position, for the rest of this turn. You can only use this effect of "Tri-Pitcher" once per turn.
