Card A

Kitsune of the Diabolic Flames

FIRE | Level 7 | Beast / Effect

2700/2500

Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned by its own effect, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. You can only use each of these effects of "Kitsune of the Diabolic Flames" once per turn.

● If this card is in your hand: You can banish 2 FIRE monsters from your GY, and if you do, Special Summon this card, and if you do that, you can draw 2 cards, then discard 1 card.

● If this card is in your GY: You can Tribute 2 FIRE monsters in your hand and/or face-up on your field, and if you do, Special Summon this card, and if you do that, you destroy 1 face-up card your opponent controls.

Card B

Ō-kami Amaterasu

DARK | Level 9 | Fairy |  Fusion | Effect

2600/2100

Lore: "Yamato-no-Kami" + "Amaterasu"

Must be either Fusion Summoned, or Special Summoned by Tributing 1 LIGHT and 1 DARK Spirit monster (1 each from your hand and your field) (in which case, you do not use "Polymerization".) Once per turn, if a Spell/Trap Card or effect is activated (Quick Effect): You can reveal 1 Spirit monster from your hand that was Summoned last turn; negate the activation. All monsters on the field lose 900 ATK, except for Spirit and Fusion Monsters, also those monsters gain this effect.

• When this card's activated effect resolves, either pay 900 LP or return this card to the hand.

Card A is a pretty potent card with both options, being basically never dead and fueling up the GY for copies of itself. I really like it from a design standpoint, with the subtle interplay between the differences of both effects, although it is a bit too much like Nine-Tailed Fox. True, it's a bit heavy in the cost department with the second effect, but the first effect is reasonably easy to pull-off mid-game. The fact that neither effect is an on-Summon effect is also pretty powerful, meaning your opponent has to deal with it off-field, but it does clash with Nine-Tailed fox just a tad, sadly. They both have their uses, with perhaps the latter fueling the former, but playing both does nerf Nine-Tailed just a tad.

Card B is a bit of a mish-mash, with the first effect being difficult to judge with random discards and the hand being private knowledge, but the general idea is sound. Second effect is pretty creative, tying into the Nikitama-Aratama combo, but is rather powerful, forcing your opponent to pay 900 LP for each monster effect they use on the field, which is a lot more than other cards that do similar things, although it must be said a lot of other cards are more vague. Shame the negating effect doesn't really work considering you're probably using the monster you've just Summoned, and it doesn't really work in the SSing Spirits Shinobird environment.

Both cards are a tad underwhelming, but both are also rather well designed save for that. I must make a choice, however, and Card B has a lot more of a creative effect, and I do naturally love Spirits.

Vote to Card B.
