(There's some space between a few of them, so likely more coming around later.)

As far as general thoughts go right now, I'm not sure what to make of this right now. Not really fond of the Nomi clauses on the ED monsters, and well, no other Links at this time isn't making this one easy to summon. Art is cute, but that's about it.

These looks too unfocused, if that's the word. I mean, no common Attribute/Type, different Levels, they want to fuse or Link, but by requiring 3+ materials, it may not be as easy to set up. But once you get a successful ED Summon, they can get things rolling by Summoning each other for follow-up plays.

I wonder with Roargon is Link4 when apparently there only will be 3 maindeck monsters. Link3 would have been much more practical. Unless, as pointed out, lower Links are to come, which would patch the issue of needing 3+ maindeck monsters to take off.

I guess they can benefit from Necro Fusion? xD

Only assumption is that we get more monsters to fill in the blanks (as there's 2 more slots between Drop and Housebutler, and from that, 2 between Butler and Roargon (probably another Fusion and Link)). As far as Roargon goes, you literally have to use 4 monsters for it (and that's all they got right now).

The ED monsters are technical copy/paste, save for what they hit and revive. Would be nice if they weren't Nomis though, but I guess we hope for smaller bosses that are revivable.

Fusion card isn't searchable (at the moment) and locks you into the archetype for the turn (which hopefully has more stuff to play with besides these that are actually workable).

Main Deck are okay, but you actually gotta get them on the field first and they lack that kind of speed right now.

====

But yeah, I'm not really fond of where this archetype is going right now; least in its current state. Hopefully it gets better, but only time will tell.

Oh man, these remind of a lot of Ghostrick in design and naming, but completely different. They are quite odd, and right now seem like they could be powerful, but lack a real way of actually getting them out. I assume that there will be a FIRE Link Monster, since the Link and Fusion share the same Type and Attribute as the Main Deck monsters, so probably a Link-1, since they have no way of really doing much right now if they don't do that. The Fusion and Link Monster do interact well, but getting them out is the problem. I think that it's cute to have a theme that doesn't seem to be based on anything, but just a fun, cartoony, colorful Archetype.

Well it is not bad, allows you to get 2 om board and a NS, but where will the fourth come from? Instant Fusion ready, but you need something in the GY, so that is weird. Hope for another Link, with it saying 2+ I hope that will be the case.

I already added that to the OP already, but yeah, at least it's another target for Roargan to revive once it goes. Still doesn't fix the fact their Main Deck is skimpy right now, but may be fixed as more stuff gets released.

Anyway...I'll update the opening post in 6-7 hours with new stuff if any comes up between now and then. Not doing it now because it is literally 3 am in morning.

WIND WATER FIRE

WIND WATER FIRE

...what's the bet that they either won't get any more monsters this pack or get an EARTH Main + Link monster? I'm actually leaning more towards the former since they used the 2000/0 stat for the second fusion. (Either that or "Prankids Matron" - the person in the fusion spell - will be made into a Link).

These aren't really good until they get means of spamming, but given the weird Obama/Duston vibe I'm getting from them (interference notwithstanding), I could see that being very possible.

These are good. Either their fusion spell or actual polymerization can fusion summon rocket using materials from hand. You then get to summon 2 kids from deck, and tribute rocket to summon back the fusion materials. You are now at 4 kids on board, +1 card advantage, and haven't used your normal summon.

Yeah, Rocket gave them a big boost out of the sudden. Getting 4 on board doesn't seem that difficult now.

Is there any external support they can get? I can only think of One for One for Pulse, and Surface/Salvage for Drop. Can Nimbles or Frogs do something for Drop? IDK. At least it can make Toadally- shot

I think you got something confused, the material is for a Link Summon, not a Fusion Summon.

I'm missing how you get four out is the thing.

He fuses 2 and then has 2 of them floating, then uses rocket's effect of tributing itself to grt back its 2 materials.

While that is possible one gets a Link 4 and 1 float into a vanilla for 3 cards (given that they can only float once each) thatis hardly impressive if you already use up all your floating resources.

Technically, if the EARTH "Prankid" theory holds up that Tinkerer mentioned, you could make the monsters you Summon off of the the Fusion-utilized Prankids be different Prankids-then they can float into copies of the original Prankids used for Fusion Material when you use them for the Link Summon. So you'll have the Prankids Roargon and two other Prankids, likely waiting to be used with Prankids on the Loose on the opponent's turn to disrupt.

Not to mention triggering the other effects of the Prankids when they get sent as material as well-either milling another Prankid, hitting your opponent's LP for a stack, or gaining 500 LP.

Yeah, that's actually really impressive for something that didn't take up your Normal Summon. I think this can work if the EARTH Link is good.

As for an EARTH Prankid in the MD... no? For, like, many reasons.

  1. It doesn’t fit the very specific thing they’re based on, Planck Waves.
  2. The purple guy wouldn’t get a base form because he can’t even make House Butler, and it wouldn’t make sense for him to be a fusion sub.
  3. On top of that, he walks in on the Prankids doing their thing, gets sucked up, and becomes Butler, which requires fewer assumptions.
  4. There are 3 Fusion and 3 Link Slots. We know one per attribute, with pics of the FIRE and WIND links, an Orthtos and a Chicken.
  5. Their gimmick is sets of 3.
  6. Perhaps most importantly, there are no more maindeck slots.

I'm just going to leave a warning for everyone in here to remain on topic about the stuff in OP and not sidetrack the discussion about other things. And yeah, behave yourselves.

As for a 4th Main Deck Prankid, I don't think it'll be there, looking at the current list right now. I'd like to hope for it too, but doesn't look like there's space between them and Nephthys (as slots 12-13 are taken up by Sacred / Hand reprint). Maybe in Savage Strike for legacy stuff, but that's another issue.

But yes, all of the Main Deck do say Fusion OR Link monsters, so they will trigger for any of the existing ED monsters. It was like that from day 1.

This... is not nearly as good as the other level 5, but it still works, and I guess you can make them both in one turn...?

Maybe a 1-of?

In other news, this means that the Chicken and Orthtos are probably both Link-2, which means FIRE really got the short end of the stick. Rip fire.
