Well, now, looks like Papa Longirsu's got a brand new way to make the Palladion's day hell.

Counter Trap Card

Lore: When a the effect of a monster on the field that no Link Monsters point to is activated, while you control a Link Summoned "Orphegel" Link Monster: Negate the activation, then move that monster to another Monster Zone on its controller's side of the field. You can banish this card from your GY, then Tribute 1 "Orphegel" monster you control; you cannot Special Summon monsters for the rest of this turn, except DARK monsters, also Special Summon 1 "World Legacy" monster from your Deck or 1 "Orphegel" monster from your Extra Deck with less ATK than that Tributed monster.

Did this in Support An Archetype, and this is the fastest turnaround time I've had for a Trap, mainly because of well....how enthused I've gotten for the World Legacy Duel Terminal Story. As I've mentioned in the post back there in the Card Workshop, this is made to show the rising Orphegel Orchestrion, in its first stages of inception. The power that comes from such a transformation-and what it shows transforming-is what is the reasoning behind the first effect, besides bringing forth a monster of the opponent's closer to range within its Link Arrows since that tends to not be where you want to be when battling Orphegels.

Second effect offers another assisting hand to the World Legacy, letting them get out from the Deck (and Orphegels Longirsu and Galatea) at breakneck speed by Tributing a higher ATK Orphegel. Those Machines are getting better and better behind the scenes, and being able to work in tandem with the Orphegels-themselves DARK Machines-affords you a new route to interrupting the opponent's stuff, considering the Legacies' hatred of anything from the Extra Deck.

And the story behind this? Well, its what comes in during the battle over Babel, where Longirsu and Blue Sky (Avram) start their fight. Ningirsu's anger over Avram, at this point, would be three-fold: possible misinterpretation over Avram standing over his dying sister with his sword in her stomach, Avram's inability or refusal to help him bring her back, and of course, the Palladions appropriating his sister's weaponry to power their imitation version of the very entities that gave rise to the Knightmares that Longirsu (in a past life) was too busy fighting to save her in the first place.

To the former Beckoned by the World Chalice, Avram and his allies have much to answer for-even if he has to convert his new lab into the ultimate anti-Link in order to do so-but it transforming does not mean that it cannot defend itself, as its rays immobilize the Palladions to keep them in place for its ultimate attack.

And even if the Legacies have to be reintroduced into the fray for a chance to properly bring back his sister? So be it.

Until the next card, then.

BD'S, signing off.

The first effect looks too situational and not as damaging, since it doesn't even get rid of the monster, instead just moving it around. However, it's the second effect what one should be paying attention to. Dropping a World a World Legacy or Orphegel is really good, even with the Tribute cost. Plus it can lead to delivering an extra attack and finishing a game. In that sense, the first effect is more of a freebie and gives it an use if you ever draw it, but I think you should be better off milling or discarding it, also Galatea being able to search it makes it a bit better.
