Commander is a unique and exciting way to play multiplayer Magic, featuring lots of legendary creatures and big, game-changing spells. Your deck is built around a single legendary creature (the "commander," which can be cast multiple times), and can use only cards within that creature's color idenity. A Commander deck must be exactly 100 cards, and can't contain more than one copy of any card other than basic lands, making it a fun challenge for a creative deck builder. Play in a multiplayer free-for-all and maximize your commander's strengths to make sure you're the last one standing! The new commander structure decks will be released AUG 10, 2018.

Commander (2018 Edition) brings back a very special category of commanders: planeswalkers! Yep, instead of a creature, each deck is led by a powerful planeswalker and built to take full advantage of their unique abilities. Most planeswalkers can't be used as commanders, but these four have been designed specifically to fill that role, so you can battle with a true legend of the Multiverse by your side.

The four decks:

Exquisite Invention (BLUE RED) Exquisite Inventions ({U}{R}, Artifacts focused strategies)

Saheeli Rai is a brilliant inventor who specializes in creating lifelike animated constructs as beautiful as they are deadly. Her dazzling intellect and mastery over metal make her a formidable adversary.

Subjective Reality (BLUE WHITE BLACK) Subjective Reality ({W}{U}{B}, Top-of-Library matters focused strategies)

Aminatou may be a child, but she possesses the wisdom of many lifetimes and the power to manipulate reality itself. She can effortlessly alter a person's entire destiny—for better or worse—and leave no trace of her interference.

Adaptive Enchantment (BLUE WHITE GREEN) Adaptive Enchantment ({W}{U}{G}, Enchantments focused strategies)

Estrid wears many faces, only occasionally wearing her own. Her arsenal of enchanted masks lets her shift seamlessly between the powers and fighting styles of countless creatures to adapt to enemy tactics.

Nature's Vengeance (BLACK RED GREEN) Nature's Vengeance ({B}{R}{G}, Lands focused strategies)

Lord Windgrace saw his entire world devastated by the detonation of a magical device, instilling in him a hatred of artifacts. Now he commands nature to rise and join his furious war against synthetic abominations.

which one has the preferred playstyle that you feel most comfortable playing? which one has the most interesting mechanics? which one has the best planeswalker? which one has the clear edge over the other 2-3? which one is the best? Which one are you getting?

Probably just picking up a few pieces from the bant deck for my enchantress deck this year. Can't justify spending the money when they increased the MSRP and then put even less value in the decks that previous years. I get that EDH is a casual format but they messed up with the themeing of the decks this year. Usually each deck has 2-3 main archtypes being presented and they usually have synergies with eachother but this year is just a mess. The UR artificer deck doesn't have any good artifacts in it, The Esper deck just feels unfocused for what its trying to do and the Jund deck misses the "lands matter" theme by a funking mile. The only one thats somewhat on theme is the enchantress deck and even that is missing a few important pieces. The only new cards that really caught my eye was Lord windgrace and the new copy enchantment,

I don't think the Jund deck missed the lands matter theme. Counting cards that get you lands and the cards that care about lands in some way you get about half the deck. It certainly could have been more, but the theme is very much there.

Over all I'm not super interested in any of the decks (UR is the one closest) but the new cards are all pretty sweet and several will find a home somewhere.

A few medium ramp spells and some dumb midrange creatures with landfall really doesnt feel like a land matters deck. I want to do cool stuff with life from the loam or seismic assault. Not ramp out colossal dreadmaw. They just feel really unfocused and missed a few key reprints in each deck. These cards are not even expensive. None of the other Jund commanders have anything to do with lands either.

I just feel a little burned by their decision to increase the MSRP and then give us some extremely unfocused deck themes.

I totally get this not being what you expected when they said it was land themed. Zendikar Incarnate and Rumblehulk and Rubblehulk are lands matter, but not what people want. I do agree a couple of different reprint choices could have gone a long way. Hell, just putting in Zendikar's Roil would have helped the Jund deck Imo.

In the defense of the other Jund commanders, we often have the secondary commanders not messing well with the theme. At least 1 deck a year has this issue with the Wizard deck last year having this problem. My favorite example of this is Karlov from the WB deck in 2015.

I think the increased MSRP is a major factor in the dissatisfaction with the decreased reprint value (fun fact, vs. C16 and C17 we have 11 more commons and basics in C18) just adding salt in the wound. At $35 I think people would have still be unhappy, but a lot less so.
