[Written] Valkyrie Support

So these cards are aimed to support "Valkyrie" Monsters and give them a little more battle presence and some more summon able Level 4 or lower Monsters to use where in addition to this they also have a new goddess card with both its continuous Spell and Quick Play form which summon, inflict effect damage and enable powerful attacks on to your opponent.

 

Valkyrie Hildr

lv 3 LIGHT

Fairy/Effect

While you control another "Valkyrie" Monster, this card cannot be targeted for an attack. When an "Valkyrie" monster battles an opponents Monster, if its ATK is lower than the ATK of the Monster it battles, that "Valkyrie" Monster gains 1000 ATK during damage calculation only.

Valkyrie Geira

lv 2 LIGHT

Fairy/Effect

When this card is Normal or Special Summoned and all other Monsters you control are "Valkyrie" Monsters: inflict 500 points of damage to your opponent. When a "Valkyrie" Monster attacks a Defence Position Monster, inflict piercing battle damage.

ATK/500 DEF/800

 

Valkyrie Eir

lv 1 LIGHT

Fairy/Effect

When this card is Normal or Special Summoned and all other Monsters you control are "Valkyrie" Monsters: increase your LP equal to the number of "Valkyrie" Monsters you control x 500. Other "Valkyrie" Monsters you control cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effects.

ATK/100 DEF/500

 

Goddess Gunnr's Wrath

Continuous Spell

When this card is activated: If all Monsters you control a "Valkyrie" Monsters (Min. 1) you can add 1 "Goddess Skuld's Oracle" from your Deck to your hand. Once per turn, during your Main Phase: you can Special Summon 1 "Valkyrie" Monster from your hand, then, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the summoned Monsters Level x 200. You can only activate 1 "Goddess Gunnr's Wrath" once per turn.

 

Rampage of the War Goddess

Quick-Play Spell

Neither player can activate cards or effects in response to this card’s activation. Cannot be activated as Chain Link 2 or higher. At the start of your Battle Phase, if all monsters you control are “Valkyrie” monsters (min. 1): Send this card to the GY, also, immediately after this effect resolves, "Valkyrie" Monsters you control are unaffected by your opponents card effects and gain 1500 ATK until the End Phase that turn. If you do, you cannot activate “Rampage of the War Goddess” until the end of that turn.

Considering that all of the Valkyrie monsters that exist right now have lower than average ATK for their Levels (by modern standards), the Skyscraper effect on Hildr does help a bit (but that doesn't say too much in the long run). Also an Edea target, but doing this shuts down the entire theme of the Deck because it isn't a Valkyrie.

 

Geira is somewhat meh at best, considering how restrictive the burn effect is already with requiring to have pure Valkyries on board and piercing isn't doing too much nowadays. Not that this card is terrible, but to my understanding, a few of the Decks nowadays don't play Defense Position anymore, especially in Link era. I guess you can use it to push over the few that still do after War Goddess pushes your stats up if needed, but that's it.

 

Eir is fine in conjunction with Ride, assuming you can summon 5 at once for 2.5K LP (which I guess helps to offset any backrow costs you have to pay to activate stuff). Er...there is some concern with you summoning multiples and they chain off each other, but how often are you even summoning multiples (don't say Ride because that requires different names). Other effect is okay, considering it does reduce (I didn't say eliminate) the need for you to use Brunhilde's effect to protect them by battle for the turn. Though, then again, Urd already provides effect protection for Valkyries, so this card's effect protection is semi-redundant.

 

Wrath is good enough for what it does, I guess, as it does give the Deck more summoning speed (well, at least until we get Swan Maiden confirmed and it doesn't suck) and lessens need for external SSing help (Valhalla, Court of Justice with Eir out, etc). Also the setup thing because at the moment, neither of the Goddesses are searchable.

 

Rampage is asking for abuse in conjunction with Mischief, and you already know about Mischief from yesterday's leaks. Basically, buff everything with immunity to the opponent's stuff, then chain Mischief at the end and attack again (going to need to check if this card's boosts would still be in effect if Mischief is being chained). If you minus Mischief, then this card is slightly less abusive, but then factor in Ride getting out a full board and you know the rest from here.

 

At least this thing isn't searchable like Mischief is with Ride, but the OTK potential is there.

 


 

I mean, you at least gave them more monsters to summon as opposed to the 4 they already have, so that works out. But other than that, everything else bar Rampage doesn't have any noticeable abuse problems. Then again, we do have to see how the rest of Zigfried's cards are adapted (if ever printed) and see if your stuff causes any issues with them thereof.
