Danger! Support

These were some support I thought of for the Danger! archetype recently released. Making the more consistent and giving them more power behind their effects.

Please leave your ideas or any feedback below! I'll be updating in the future.

Researching Cryptozoology was pretty interesting. You come across a lot of neat monsters you don't hear about too often.

I suppose a small nitpick here is that all of the current Danger! monsters are DARK, but it's minor and doesn't affect how they function. But yeah, let's see what these do for the Deck (and if I have a passing knowledge of how they play while reviewing these).

You know how this works by now.

Danger! Yeti!

Level 8 / Earth / Beast / Effect

3000 attack / 0 defense

You can reveal this card in your hand; your opponent randomly chooses 1 card from your entire hand, then you discard the chosen card. Then, if the discarded was not “Danger! Yeti!”, Special Summon 1 “Danger! Yeti!” from your hand, and if you do, draw 1 card. If this card is discarded: you can target 1 Set card your opponent controls; destroy that target. You can only use this effect of “Danger! Yeti!” once per turn.

This feels more like a worse version of Bigfoot, well, at least taking into consideration a lot of the stuff that is seeing play. Granted, blowing up backrow and whatnot isn't a bad thing, but idk. Should be okay though as it is another beater if you need to.

Danger! Kraken!

Level 7 / Water / Sea-Serpent / Effect

1600 attack / 2800 defense

You can reveal this card in your hand; your opponent randomly chooses 1 card from your entire hand, then you discard the chosen card. Then, if the discarded was not “Danger! Kraken!”, Special Summon 1 “Danger! Kraken!” from your hand, and if you do, draw 1 card. If this card is discarded; you can add 1 “Danger!” card from your GY to your hand. You can only use this effect of “Danger! Kraken!” once per turn.

From what I know about the Deck, they don't have any way of recurring stuff (especially after Zone discarding or if opponent gets lucky and triggers). The retrieval isn't particularly amazing though, but it does give you another shot at summoning them and triggering.

Danger! Bunyip!

Level 7 / Water / Beast / Effect

2800 attack / 1000 defense

You can reveal this card in your hand; your opponent randomly chooses 1 card from your entire hand, then you discard the chosen card. Then, if the discarded was not “Danger! Bunyip!”, Special Summon 1 “Danger! Bunyip!” from your hand, and if you do, draw 1 card. If this card is discarded; you can discard 1 random card from your opponent’s hand. You can only use this effect of “Danger! Bunyip!” once per turn.

If this were a couple generations ago, this discarding stuff would hurt a lot more. Nowadays, any discards are GY setup or what will likely be the case, help the opponent trigger their Danger! monsters in the mirror match. So yeah, while the effect itself is good, it's just hampered by how much losing cards to the GY has changed.

Danger!? Man-eating Tree!?

Level 5 / Earth / Plant / Effect

1400 attack / 2500 defense

You can reveal this card in your hand; your opponent randomly chooses 1 card from your entire hand, then you discard the chosen card. Then, if the discarded was not “Danger!? Man-eating Tree!?”, Special Summon 1 “Danger!? Man-eating Tree!?” from your hand, and if you do, draw 1 card. If this card is discarded: you can target 1 Monster your opponent controls; take controls of that target. Send that Monster to the GY during the end phase of the next turn. You can only use this effect of “Danger!? Man-eating Tree!?” once per turn.

This one's probably the best one out of the bunch IMO and mostly due to it stealing monsters you can then use for ED laddering and whatnot (if Borreload says anything). Not much else I can really say about it.

Danger! Is Lurking Everywhere!

Spell - Quickplay

Target 1 “Danger!” Monster you control; return that target to your hand then draw 1 card. Immediately after this effect resolves, you can discard 1 card. You can only activate 1 “Danger! Is Lurking Everywhere!” per turn.

Recycler-type card is fine. I suppose in an ideal world, you bounce back the stuff you want like Nessie (searcher), Tree (to steal stuff) or Jackalope, etc, draw again and then get choice of what Danger! monster you trigger.

Danger! IT’S HEADED OUR WAY!

Spell - Equip

Target 1 “Danger!” Monster in your GY; Special Summon that target from your GY then equip it with this card. Once per turn; you can discard 1 card to have the equipped Monster gain 1000 ATK. You can only activate 1 “Danger! IT’S HEADED OUR WAY! per turn.

Technically speaking, you already have Chupacabra for revival, but it never hurts for more, I guess (in case you summon it first and don't get to trigger its discard effect from there). At least it sets up your other stuff too, though depending on future releases, that stat boosting thing may be problematic (mostly for 4K Bigfoot/Yeti and then triggering whatever). I would probably have the boost last until the End Phase of next turn or something, but you do what you need to here.

Danger! RUN AWAY!

Trap - Normal

Add 2 “Danger!” cards from your Deck to your hand, except “Danger! RUN AWAY!. Immediately after this effect resolves, discard 1 card. You can only activate 1 “Danger! RUN AWAY!” per turn.

Again, you already have Nessie for searches, but this technically fills in something that doesn't in the sense of getting multiple searches and then triggering stuff you need. But that being said, you still are able to get duplicate copies of the same card (however given how the Deck functions, it's not ideal). Backrow removal is still an issue though, and Traps inherently have to deal with said risk (however given what this card does, it's needed).

Preparing For Danger!

Trap - Counter

When your opponent activates a card or effect: you can discard 1 “Danger!” Monster; negate that effect, then destroy that card, and if you do that, draw 1 card. You can only activate 1 “Preparing For Danger!” per turn.

I have some concerns about the free draw thing mostly because Danger! monsters trigger no matter how they're discarded, and you are technically getting pluses for negating activation (trigger the effect of whatever Danger! you want, then draw). Yes, the "draw 1 card" is somewhat standard for the archetype as-is (and the free draw would be somewhat alright if cards didn't trigger when discarded), but that's about it. Hard OPT somewhat keeps this from getting crazy, but yeah, I would say to just shuffle the Danger! monster back into the Deck so it doesn't trigger; if you get it back from the draw or something, then it isn't doing too much else besides that.
