Wishlist for August/September 2018 Banlist

Recommended Posts

Banned:

Firewall Dragon- Generic cards always seem to bite Konami in the butt.

Limited:

El Shaddoll Construct- They're reprinting a lot of Shaddoll stuff in Valkyrie, so I wouldn't be surprised if this comes back

Terraforming- Honestly a longshot, I can see Terraforming escaping this banlist

Shurit, Strategist of the Nekroz- Whould Nekroz even survive in Links? Only one way to find out...

That Grass Looks Greener- It was perfectly fine at one.

Yata-Garasu- Just making sure you're paying attention...

Semi-Limited:

Inzecter Dragonfly/Hornet- Let's just see where it goes. Most likely nowhere

Unlimited:

Book of Moon- Maybe Flip Effect decks would use more than one, and even that's a stretch.

Ritual Beast Ulti-Cannahawk- RB got shafted by Link Summoning, and let's be real, what could really go wrong?

Burial From a Different Dimension- Zombie players, rejoice!

Necroface- Stromburgh players, this one's for you!

Apliqliphort Towers- Yay...

T.G. Hyper Librarian- yay

Ring of Destruction- ye

Keep Grass banned for ever. All putting it to one achieves is creating a crappy deck reliant on drawing an instawin 1-of which isn't fun for the person who gets sacked and also isn't fun for the guy playing the 60 card deck most of the time. I can get on board with the rest of them though, and I unironically think Yata can go back to 1.

Throw in a ban on Droll, a limit on Hornet Drones and a ban on Knightmare Goblin if Firewall escapes due to anime magic and I'm good.

Firewall Dragon- Generic cards always seem to bite Konami in the butt. This card should have had the clause that anything he special summons should be to a zone he points to

Limited:

El Shaddoll Construct- They're reprinting a lot of Shaddoll stuff in Valkyrie, so I wouldn't be surprised if this comes back Yeet

Terraforming- Honestly a longshot, I can see Terraforming escaping this banlist yeah goukis go hard on their field spell abuse

Consedirng what Trickstars and altergeist did on Worlds this should be my unreasonable Wish List:

Forbidden:

  • Firewall Dragon: This is the only solid hit to goukis (ironically), all of them search each other upon being sent to grave, is either firewall or all of the goukis.
  • Knightmare Corruptor Ilbee: Random hit from my part but considering Knightmares themselves are actually good Link monsters makes sense to keep them a little more, this on the other hand its just the nail in the coffin when you are already extra linked.
  • Cannon Soldier/Toon Cannon Soldier/ Amazoness Archer: FTKs even without firewall it just a matter of time before someone finds a new way

Limited:

  • Trickstar Lycoris: Worded poorly to abuse its SS just from 1 monster + new end procedures
  • Double Iris Magician: Ban was a little hard to be honest, with astrograph and SK Venom gone this can make magicians to approach a new direction
  • Inspector Boarder: I dislike stun, but it wont surprise me if it ends here, konami tends to make random hits from worlds and this could be 1 of them
  • True King Lythosagim: No more no less,
  • Shurit Strategist of the Nekroz: You said it above
  • Babycerasaurs: Litho's return should have consecuences.
  • Fairy Tail Snow: I havent forgot about this card
  • Lonfire blosson: People run 3 for deck thining unless you actually play a plant deck (and even then).
  • El Shaddoll Construct: Dont need to say it again
  • Heavymetalfoes Electrumite: Too powerfull at multiples
  • Hornet Drones: Kill the splashable engine, not the deck
  • Terraforming: When is konami going to learn
  • Scapegoat: Even if slow, it does too much now
  • Trickstar reincarnation: Its time for them to change their core strategy
  • Altergeist Protocol/Manifestation: 1 of these should be here I dont care which

Semi-Limited:

  • Ash Blossom: Reprints, also OCG
  • Droll & Lock Bird: Unlike Maxx C, this does shut down decks, however like the former a deck shouldnt be that dependant on gaining massive advantage.
  • Harminizing Magician: At 1 seems harsh, and considering Astrograph is not here 2 seems balanced.
  • Sky Striker - Mobilize Engage: It can be used multiple times, a little hit to consistency
  • Altergeist Multifaker: Best card of the Deck, not that it hurts them that much
  • Dragonic Diagram: It doesnt have a hard OPT, and many times a player can burn the 3 in 1 turn, at 2 the engine is fine and a its hit to a deck I really dont like
  • Card of Demise: Again I just dont like the decks it improves
  • Union Hangar: A little hit to a deck Konami doesnt get monet from any more
  • Book Of Moon: Just because Konami is afraid to released it completly, at least leave it at 2.

The thing about Grass is, is that you have to build an entire deck around it, therefore making it less of a deck and more of a concept. It's the same logic that keeps Final Countdown and Exodia from being banned.

Exactly. You build a trash deck reliant on grass so that you highroll and draw it or don't and lose. This is a bad thing.

Any 60 card deck is practically that - you weaken your deck in the hope of drawing specifically grass

Except infernoid builds their deck in a way they don't need grass. It's a newer deck, but OCG Chaos Dragon also focus on getting the double dark matter play, sure Grass is nice, but relying solely on grass says more about you than the deck

How about Gouki Rematch
  • Knightmare Corruptor Ilbee:  Random hit from my part but considering Knightmares themselves are actually good Link monsters makes sense to keep them a little more, this on the other hand its just the nail in the coffin when you are already extra linked. This card doesn't need to be hit, and people are mostly using it for laddering now, a lot of players stopped giving it away.
  • Cannon Soldier/Toon Cannon Soldier/ Amazoness Archer: FTKs even without firewall it just a matter of time before someone finds a new way. Agreed. Instead of hitting Firewall (which doesn't need to be hit) how about we hit the cards that limit future card design

Limited:

  • Trickstar Lycoris: Worded poorly to abuse its SS just from 1 monster + new end procedures. Stays at three. End of match procedures should be reverted or changed. Not this card. Is worded perfectly fine.
  • Double Iris Magician: 3 is fine.
  • Inspector Boarder: if Konami hits this then I'll give away 1 ulti Judgment Dragon away on here
  • True King Lythosagim: No more no less,
  • Shurit Strategist of the Nekroz: You said it above
  • Babycerasaurs: Litho's return should have consecuences.
  • Fairy Tail Snow: I havent forgot about this card.  No, but everybody else has. People hate this card but who is even winning with this card why hit it
  • Lonfire blosson:  People run 3 for deck thining unless you actually play a plant deck (and even then). People run 3 for consistency. See Fairy Tail Snow. This card at 1 is useless because you'll see the targets just as often.
  • El Shaddoll Construct: Dont need to say it again
  • Heavymetalfoes Electrumite: Too powerfull at multiples
  • Hornet Drones: Kill the splashable engine, not the deck
  • Terraforming: Fields aren't being abused anymore. They may be in the future, but with Ancient Fairy gone we don't really have to worry as much.
  • Scapegoat: You have this but not Phantom Skyblaster, which is better
  • Trickstar reincarnation: Its time for them to change their core strategy. If this card is Trickstar's core strategy take my invites to nationals away cause funk this card actually sucks.
  • Altergeist Protocol/Manifestation: 1 of these should be here I dont care which

Semi-Limited:

  • Ash Blossom: no
  • Droll & Lock Bird: Unlike Maxx C, this does shut down decks, however like the former a deck shouldnt be that dependant on gaining massive advantage. This doesn't shut down decks, it shuts down turns, and your opponent is just as likely to draw Called as you are Droll. Unlike Ash that is a one for one trade, I still get a card if my opponent Droll's me.
  • Harminizing Magician: At 1 seems harsh, and considering Astrograph is not here 2 seems balanced. 3 is balanced
  • Sky Striker - Mobilize Engage: It can be used multiple times, a little hit to consistency. If we hit Hornet why hit this
  • Altergeist Multifaker: Best card of the Deck, not that it hurts them that much
  • Dragonic Diagram: It doesnt have a hard OPT, and many times a player can burn the 3 in 1 turn, at 2 the engine is fine and a its hit to a deck I really dont like. Why don't we beat a dead deck even more. This is probably the worst suggestion on this list
  • Card of Demise: Again I just dont like the decks it improves. And all of those decks suck so why hit it
  • Union Hangar: A little hit to a deck Konami doesnt get monet from any more I dislike "x deck has been floating around for awhile let's hit it". Why the funk are we hitting decks because they are around for awhile. People cry about shallow formats, but it's because of stupid ideas like this.
  • Book Of Moon: Just because Konami is afraid to released it completly, at least leave it at 2. 3
