New Archetype inspired by the old Element monsters (Written)

Hey everyone,

 

This is an archetype that I’ve been messing around for a while now. I always wanted to continue the “Element” series that was first released in Soul of the Duelist but never really found a way to circumvent the fact that there name could affect quite a few other archetypes. So instead, I give you the Archeans: half complete archetype, half generic support for pure Attribute decks. I imagined this series being a sort of antagonist to the old “Element” monsters while having similar abilities.

(Note. For those interested, Archean refer to one of the geological era of the Earth in which the crust had cooled enough to allow life to start (around 4 to 2.5 billion years ago). Hadean is the period where the planet was still forming and was more or less a chaotic mess.)

Archean Tempest Sylph

Level 4 WIND Thunder/Effect

ATK 1500 DEF 1500

You can only control 1 “Archean Tempest Sylph“. If you only control WIND monsters, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. If this card is sent from your hand or field to the GY; you can Special Summon 1 “Archean” monster from your Deck except “Archean Tempest Sylph”, and if you do, it is treated as a WIND monster. You can only use this effect of “Archean Tempest Sylph” once per turn. If there is an EARTH monster on the field, this card gets the following effect:

  • If this card attacks; the target monster loses 500 ATK and DEF.

 

Archean Torrential Undine

Level 4 WATER Aqua/Effect

ATK 1200 DEF 1900

You can only control 1 “Archean Torrential Undine“. If you only control WATER monsters, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. If this card is sent from your hand or field to the GY: You can target 1 monster face-up monster your opponent controls; take control of that target until the end of the turn, and if you do, it cannot attack or be Tributed. You can only use this effect of “Archean Torrential Undine” once per turn. If there is a FIRE monster on the field, this card gets the following effect:

  • Switch this card’s original ATK and DEF.

 

Archean Avalanche Goblin

Level 4 EARTH Rock/Effect

ATK 1500 DEF 1500

You can only control 1 “Archean Avalanche Goblin“. If you only control EARTH monsters, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. If this card is sent from your hand or field to the GY; you can add 1 “Archean” Spell/Trap Card from your Deck to your hand. You can only use this effect of “Archean Avalanche Goblin” once per turn. If there is a WATER monster on the field, this card gets the following effect:

  • Once per turn, if you Normal or Special Summon a monster; gain LP equal to half its ATK or DEF (whichever is higher).

 

Archean Scorching Salamander

Level 4 FIRE Pyro/Effect

ATK 1900 DEF 1200

You can only control 1 “Archean Scorching Salamander“. If you only control FIRE monsters, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. While you control a face-up “Archean” or “Hadean” card, if this card is sent from your hand or field to the GY: You can add 1 “Polymerization” or “Fusion” Spell Card from your Deck or GY to your hand. If there is a WIND monster on the field, this card gets the following effect:

  • When this card’s destroy a monster by battle: inflict damage to your opponent equal to half that monster’s ATK or DEF (whichever is higher).

Archean Era

Field Spell Card

You can send 1 “Archean” monster from your hand or Deck to the GY; all monsters that are currently on the field become the same Attribute as that monster until the end of the turn. If you control no monsters: You can target 1 monster your opponent controls; Special Summon 1 “Archean” monster from your hand, and if you do, it becomes the same Attribute as that target. If you activate this effect, you cannot Summon any other monsters this turn except “Archean” and/or “Hadean” monsters. You can only use each effect of “Archean Era” once per turn.

 

Archean Genesis

Continuous Spell Card

If an “Archean” or “Hadean” monster(s) you control is destroyed by an opponent card (either by battle or card effect): You can Special Summon 1 “Archean” monster from your Deck, whose Attribute is different from at least 1 of those destroyed monsters’ original Attribute. During either player’s turn: You can destroy this face-up card, then declare 1 Attribute; face-up monsters you currently control become that Attribute until the end of the turn. You can only use each effect of “Archean Genesis” once per turn.

 

Archean Awakening

Normal Spell card

Send 1 “Archean” monster from your hand or field to the GY; add 1 “Archean” monster with a different Attribute from your Deck to your hand. If a “Hadean” monster leaves the field: You can banish this card from your GY, then target 1 “Archean” monster and 1 “Polymerization” or “Fusion” card from your GY; add both targets to your hand. You can only use each effect of “Archean Awakening” once per turn.

Archean Reconstruction

Continuous Trap Card

If you control a “Archean”, “Hadean” or “Element” monster, up to twice per turn: You can target 1 face-up monster on the field, then declare 1 Attribute; this turn, the selected monster becomes that Attribute, also it gains 500 ATK and DEF. If this card is sent to the GY by a card effect: You can declare 1 Attribute; until the end of this turn “Archean” and “Hadean” monsters you control with that Attribute cannot be destroyed by battle or card effect.

 

Archean Dominion

Normal Trap Card

You can only use each effect of “Archean Dominion” once per turn. You can activate 1 of the following effects:

  • Fusion Summon 1 “Hadean” monster from your Extra Deck by shuffling monsters from your field or GY into the Deck.
  • Fusion Summon 1 “Hadean” using monsters from either side of the field as Fusion Materials, and if you do, your opponent draws 2 cards.

Hadean Hurricane Erinyes

Level 6 WIND Thunder/Fusion/Effect

ATK 2400 DEF 2400

“Archean” monster + 1 WIND monster

If this Fusion Summoned monster is destroyed and sent to the GY: Special Summon 1 level 8 or lower WIND monster from your hand or Deck (ignoring its Summoning conditions), and if you do, it cannot attack this turn. When this card is Fusion Summoned: You can target up to other 2 cards on the field; shuffle those target into their owner’s Deck. You can only use this effect of “Hadean Hurricane Erinyes” once per turn. This monster gets the following effect(s) if there is a monster(s) with the following Attribute(s) on the field:

  • EARTH: Monsters your opponent control that have been Special Summoned from the Extra Deck lose 500 ATK and DEF.
  • WATER: Once per turn: If your opponent declares an attack; negate that attack, then switch the attacking monster’s Battle Position.

 

Hadean Maelstrom Makara

Level 6 WATER Aqua/Fusion/Effect

ATK 1900 DEF 2800

“Archean” monster + 1 WATER monster

If this Fusion Summoned monster is destroyed and sent to the GY: Special Summon 1 level 8 or lower WATER monster from your hand or Deck (ignoring its Summoning conditions), and if you do, it cannot attack this turn. Once per turn (Quick Effect): You can target up to 2 face-up monsters on the field; switch the original ATK and DEF of those targets until the end of the turn. This monster gets the following effect(s) if there is a monster(s) with the following Attribute(s) on the field:

  • FIRE: Monsters your opponent control cannot change their Battle Position.
  • WIND: During each of your opponent’s End Phase; destroy every face-up monster they control that did not declare an attack this turn.

 

Hadean Earthshaking Colossus

Level 6 EARTH Rock/Fusion/Effect

ATK 2400 DEF 2400

“Archean” monster + 1 EARTH monster

If this Fusion Summoned monster is destroyed and sent to the GY: Special Summon 1 level 8 or lower EARTH monster from your hand or Deck (ignoring its Summoning conditions), and if you do, it cannot attack this turn. If this card is Special Summoned: You can target up to 2 “Archean” and/or “Hadean” card (s) from your GY; shuffle those targets into the Deck, then draw 1 card for each. This monster gets the following effect(s) if there is a monster(s) with the following Attribute(s) on the field:

  • WATER: Your opponent can only attack with 1 monster during each Battle Phase.
  • FIRE: During each of your End Phase; inflict 500 damage to your opponent for every face-up monster they control.

 

Hadean Roaring Efrite

Level 6 FIRE Pyro/Fusion/Effect

ATK 2800 DEF 1900

“Archean” monster + 1 FIRE monster

If this Fusion Summoned monster is destroyed and sent to the GY: Special Summon 1 level 8 or lower FIRE monster from your hand or Deck (ignoring its Summoning conditions), and if you do, it cannot attack this turn. When this card is Fusion Summoned: You can target up to 2 cards on the field; destroy those targets. You can only use this effect of “Hadean Roaring Efrite” once per turn. This monster gets the following effect(s) if there is a monster(s) with the following Attribute(s) on the field:

  • WIND: If this card destroys a monster by battle; inflict damage to your opponent equal to that monster’s original ATK.
  • EARTH: If this card destroys a monster by battle; banish that monster.
