fine I'll post not a meme

 

Boring.

 

It's certainly going to set a tone, and I know of the game, so I get it... But I can't see myself ever sitting down and listening to this. Even as BG music, I kinda just kept forgetting it was there.

 

4/10

 

Enjoyable. Ignoring context other than TIM CURRY, it's still not the most... What I would listen to, but it's fun every so often, for sure.

It kept my attention throughout, and while it felt like it belonged in CIV at times, I kinda enjoyed it?

This... makes me nostalgic, but not so much for the oldest eras. Really PS era games, like Digimon World 3, for some reason.

 

I could see myself listening to this on loop for a while, and it has a lot of energy going for it.

I... actually really like this piece. I feel a mix of emotions from it, similar to the other Porter song I know of. It's upbeat, but somber. I probably will go back and listen to this after this, kinda feel like I'm in a mood for it.

This story's music makes me too emotional

This feels really happy, overall, but there's... something almost melancholic here. I'm not sure if I'm just imagining that, or if it's just the style... But I guess I could compare it to the post-Case theme from Ace Attorney, or an epilogue theme?

 

A moving piece, 8/10

 

It sounds a bit repetitive at first, but as it the song evolved it really got stuck in my ear

 

why do you keep linking me things that make me think of oneshot

 

It's solid. I dunno if I'd really go back and listen to it, unlike the last one, but it's still fine.

oh hey, a song I know (ignore toxic love)!

 

Not that the song is bad, but I've always felt like this was kinda like... discount version of Rebellion from Blazblue. Maybe just "alternate timeline" version? Because the song is actually pretty solid, and it tells me a lot about the character it represents, but it still feels like it kinda borrows from Rebellion and other such MC songs.

At first, I was like "y tho"... but, after listening, I instead hated it.

 

It has none of the spirit of the song it's supposedly an edit of, and it just uses "Evil" and dubstep in an attempt to stand out by being edgy.

boring. attempts to use spanish guitar to differentiate itself from how bland it sounds, but fails.

I really like this. It's a song I've never heard before, but it makes me feel nostalgic. Happy. It feels like someone coming out of a dark place, or remembering someone they once knew... Maybe even a happy farewell to someone?

I am afraid I don't know the original well enough to gauge, so... I'm not super impressed here. It's not offensive, but without context, I just don't think I'd listen to it much, though it was fine in the background.

Oh Black you're making me optimistic. As a sound novel, Umineko's music is meant to be heard with this or that context, and it's a fish out of water without that. You'll come to love all the music more after reading it (I actually have the top comment on Far's video).

 

Far is indeed about reminiscing. It was composed so masterfully as to express not a mere emotion but mental process, which is essentially ineffable. Melody is the elemental will of the spirit expressed without compression. It's magic's very aftershadow, from nothing to abstraction to representation, and you can see that here. Umineko excels at this.

 

You've heard this before. CowCow really likes it.

If you wanna talk about raw speaking to the soul, this one does. I was misty eyed fairly early on. The track very much fits its name, though, like most of the songs in this series that I've heard... It carries some melancholy with it, as well.

 

I could say it's due to the piano, but... I don't think that's the case. I think it's something deliberate on the part of the composer, to fit the overall tone of the game.

 

I don't quite liek this one as much as the last, but I'll still give it an 8/10.

for the record, it was made by one of the two who made the original song. It's a variation in production, and if nothing else demonstrates how change in key can dramatically alter the tone of a track.

weeby as funk but...

 

While there are parts I didn't enjoy, because it goes through so much... The parts I did enjoy were incredible. I could really feel the emotional resonance in them, and there is definitely a story to it, even if it's a bit wonky... But it is a bit bogged down by those parts, so I can't give it too shining a score.
