You can use each effect among the (1)st and (2)nd effects with this card’s name only once per turn.

Tatsunecro is certainly interesting. It's a Zombie-based version of Mara of the Nordic Alfar or Malefic Parallel Gear, but while it seems restrictive to just Zombies, that is merely the term for what it can Synchro Summon. You can use any material you want, but the end product, from what I understand, has to be a Zombie Synchro. Definitely flexible, and since it banishes from the hand, it can cause some shenanigans.

Good thing we have a new Level 7 Zombie Synchro to best take advantage of this monster. A Synchro upgrade of the classic Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon, this version now has a bit more punch. Without Zombie World, this guy can become quite formidable. With Zombie World, he becomes a nightmare, feeding off of both player's Graves. And he incentivizes more reckless plays so you can replace smaller Zombies with bigger ones, such as your opponent's own zombified monsters.

And Return of Zombie is actually pretty good. At face value, it seems like a bit of an expensive option for bringing back a banished Zombie by trading one you already have, but a closer look at the wording reveals much more potential. If you have a Zombified boss monster with destruction immunity that you spent considerable resources to take down and steal have its effects negated, so it's wide open to attack? Blink it out of the field for a bit to avoid the targeting, and have it come back fresh and ready to kick ass with its effects restored. Same as if you want to redo a Special Summon-based effect, or a soft OPT effect.

I really like these cards, and I want to see how this deck ends up.

They’re all mediocre to bad.

zombies don’t have a hand, and if they do, they’re throwing it away for combo, not to mention that Zombie Synchros aren’t very good, so tatsunecro ends up funking meh

it isn’t even a Solitaire target

REZND isnt great. It’s a beater that... If you use Zombie World can revive stuff via battle. At least it’s not it’s own battle/when either player has a monster destroyed, but that’s still not outstanding.

trap just isn’t good, first effect is a -1, second effect is just as “okay” as it was on Necronize

Shinobi Necro gave me hope for the SD, but this is just meh.

I feel like there are a ton of better usages for ZW than a hamfisted attempt to make REZND alive. Agree with you entirely, this is such a funking letdown

Right, since I thought being coy on how the support did-and didn't-live up to snuff would be as droll as the sleeping way too many did on Vendreads before they became the newest member of the "Floating + Ease of Summon + Search = EXTRA LINK" Club, I decided to try and spruce up my review a little and do it

IN LIMERICK FORM

HIT IT

iU8EggM.png

Welcome back to the Decay Disaster!

Where best friends are getting lost faster!

Today I’ll review

What a Duelist is to do

To make this supports’ use vaster.

Red-Eyes Necro is a Destrudo-made dream

Though its effect could be better, it’d seem;

ATK boosting through chattel?

Zombie Revival through battle?

Did somebody forget it was 2018?

Though the tuner definitely seems like a wonder;

Synchs in hand to help you steal some thunder-

But it exiles as an injunction,

And needs the Normal Summon to function –

Any other Type, and that’d be a fatal blunder.

And then the Trap, the best of the three,

Which through clever wordplay, you see,

Allows your horde to evade,

Knocks Link-climbing back a grade,

And has a Shinobi-replaying guarantee.

“It’s a Trap!” a certain admiral would say,

But RoZ can still work in this age n’ day.

With Zombie World, may as well state;

“Your combo plays are through, mate!”

While leaving fodder to run down and extend play.

Doesn’t make Return the meta’s new fright,

But to Control Zombs, it’s a decayed delight,

Since they live to make hay

With the foes they take away;

Not like any Deck helps with that, right?

To conclude in four stanzas or less,

I give these three a B- on the test;

Right now, Red-Eyes’ 6.8

Which it might appreciate,

But OMEGASPAM.dek’s still the best.

Tastunecro’s score is a far bigger strain-

Is Normal Summoning this worth the drain,

For a Type where its rash

To leave anything in hand but Ash?

Yeah, no, 5.8-anything higher’s insane.

I did mention Return of Zombie’s interaction

On opponent’s stuff that’s pulled to your faction;

Blimpfruit elaborated anew,

In dpYGO’s review,

7.0.-its cool, but with Necronize, a distraction.

So I ask, reviewer’s cap now doffed,

With THIS meta, what strategy wouldn’t trough?

In this card game and no other

Would we accept three-turn smother;

That’s my last word-BD’S, signing off.

tiresome tirade

your meta boogieman isn't the reason these are mediocre at best. They are slow, antisynergistic, and unrewarding. Yes, gouki is a problem deck, but you basically just repeat that again and again as if it is a deep metagame understanding.

Sometimes cards kinda just suck. This is one of those times.

Also, not sure what convinced you vendreads were the new plague upon Yu-Gi-Oh when they aren't having much of any tournament showing, as far as I can find.

See, what's getting tiresome is how you ignored an entire kickass limerick brigade to harp on me giving them meh scores (none of them are staple scores, btw), as if that would help buttress the point you think I'm making and aren't.

DIdn't call the Vendreads the new plague, I called people sleeping on them shortsighted, especially considering how little they need to go off. Two cards to make Extra Link in the OCG, three to make it here without Summon Sorceress, plus Shinobi Necro, plus Avendread? Yeah, this was the better deck of the two between it and F.A.s, at least.

Jesus, stop trying to make a point on me making stuff about disappointing but mechanic-forwarding cards. WHICH THEY ARE. Everything isn't about whether it's U.C.T. or D.O.A-sometimes there's a playstyle to consider and they considered it. Haphazardly, but they have.

But this? Better living through Stockholm about how inchoate the Meta's been for the tail end of a decade now? Can't dossy up the aneurysm necessary to not see that as an issue-or the imagination to ignore it.

see, the issue is that this evaluation of the game is an opinion that you present as if it were fact.

It probably has to do with this site's explicit purpose of creating cards, but people here have a habit of believing themselves to be experts on design, without acknowledging that things they consider to be problems can even enrich the game for others. Interest does not directly equate to expertise. Not to say these problems are only present in people who approach game design from a hobbyist level, as they often come up even from highly regarded people such as Mark Rosewater, who often laments power creep, or even expansion of game mechanics, as an objectively, and even inherently, bad thing, despite their presence being both justified and beneficial.

....I've never not said it wasn't my personal opinion though.

I'm not seeing how I can naturally preface this as 'but there's a chance I'm wrong on this', but....there's always been a chance I'm wrong on this. Me expounding on this is a reference point to what drives my philosophy of what I review, so it doesn't sound like its coming from some aggressive standpoint. Believe me, I'm a pacifist at heart-this extolling of every-light-hearted thing I do and say is an affront to who I am, someone that is assertive but the farthest thing from bad-faith or arrogant. I literally do not have the part of me to actually think that of my fellow man, y'know?

I just...might not up for round #1402 on how BD'S, a person who turns flies out of doors rather than squashing them, is somehow 'crusading' about a children's card game. I am NOT trying to make enemies out of the meta plays-I'm trying to present...something different than just 'lol this card sux 0/10". Got enough of that from....well, everything a decade ago.

I thought you'd understand that. Jesus, you're one of the finest people I know, that's why I hope for more from you when I exert effort to try and put a new face on everything I type than the two-dimensional schlock we've both had to suffer going through. I go long-form because...well, I LOVE talking about this. Yugioh got me through a lot of tough times, which is why it's so....jeez, again with how hard I struggle to find non-aggressive words about this, but how irritating it is when its faults do pop up and everyone goes 'eff off, its for the greater good' about it. My apologies for any exaggeration on that, but it's not off another world from the truth.

COUNT OF FIVE.

STOP.

ASSUMING.

THE MOTIVE.

OF WHAT I PRESENT.

YOU ARE TERRIBLE AT IT.

Oi, going to tell you to knock it off. This is straight-up spam.

If you can't form a reasonable response, then don't reply. Giga's post already bordered on spam, but this is past that.
