Dekoichi archetype

Dekoichi was my fav FLIP monster, even though he was never really that good. Here’s some support to make him better.

 

Dekoichi the Battlcursed Engine                   DARK/Machine/LV 4                        1000/1400

FLIP: Banish cards face-down from the top of your opponent’s Deck equal to the number of "Bokoichi the Freightening Car" you control + 1.

 

Bokoichi the Accursed Car                             DARK/Machine/LV 2                        500/500

This card’s name is also treated as “Bokoichi the Freightening Car” while on the field or in the GY. While this card is in your hand you can reveal it and target a face-down Defense Position monster you control; Special Summon this card, and if you do change that monster to face-up Attack Position, and if you do that and that monster is not a Machine you lose 1000 LP. You can only use this effect of “Bokoichi the Accursed Car” once per turn.

 

Bokoichi Coal Car                                             DARK/Machine/LV 2                        500/500

Flip: Special Summon a “Bokoichi” or “Dekoichi” monster from your Deck in face-down or face-up Defense position.

This card’s name is also treated as “Bokoichi the Freightening Car” while on the field or in the GY. You can banish this card from your GY, then target up to 2 “Bokoichi” and/or “Dekoichi” monsters from among your banished cards and/or the cards in your GY, other than “Bokoichi Coal Car”; shuffle them into your Deck. You can only activate this effect of “Bokoichi Coal Car” once per turn.

 

Dekoichi the Battlcursed Complete              DARK/Machine/Fusion/LV 6           1900/1500

1 “Dekoichi” monster + 1-3 “Bokoich” monsters.

Must first be Fusion Summoned or Special Summoned by banishing its Fusion Material Monsters from your Field and/or GY, including a “Dekoichi” monster you control. Gains 500 ATK for each “Bokoich” monster used for its Special Summon. If this card destroys a monster by battle, you can select and activate one of the following effects:

  • Draw cards up to the number of “Bokoich” monster used for this card’s Special Summon.
  • Send cards your opponent controls to the GY up to the number of “Bokoich” monster used for this card’s Special Summon.

You can only select each effect of “Dekoichi the Battlcursed Complete” once per turn”.

 

Dekoichi Train Schedule                 Normal Trap

Banish a “Bokoichi” monster in your possession from your hand, field, or GY, then target a “Dekoichi” monster you control face-up or that is in your GY; Special Summon it in face-down Defense Position if in the GY, or change it to face-down Defense Position if on the field. You can banish this card from your GY; add a “Bokoichi” monster from your Deck to your hand. You may only activate each effect of “Dekoichi Train Schedule” once per turn.

 

Dekoichi Loading Station                Field Spell

While you control a face-up “Dekoichi” monster or face-down Defense Position monsters, the opponent cannot target “Bokoichi” monsters you control for attacks or for effects. You can target a face-up “Dekoichi” monster you control; change it to face-down Defense Position. If a face-up monster you control is changed to face-down Defense Position by a card effect, you can Special Summon a “Bokoichi” monster from your hand or Deck. You can only activate each effect of “Dekoichi Loading Station” once per turn.

Seems fine for the most part, though unless you bother to use Machine Duplication on Bokoichi (and its remake below), yeah, that's it. Would be funny to banish 5 cards from the opponent's Deck, albeit that requires you to run 3 Accursed and maybe 1-2 Coal. I mean, you can still run the original for whatever Vanilla support you can combo with Dekoichi, but why?

This card’s name is also treated as “Bokoichi the Freightening Car” while on the field or in the GY. While this card is in your hand you can reveal it and target a face-down Defense Position monster you control; Special Summon this card, and if you do change that monster to face-up Attack Position, and if you do that and that monster is not a Machine you lose 1000 LP. No issues here, except for obvious trigger Dekoichi's Flip effect thing to get extra card.

 

Bokoichi Coal Car                                             DARK/Machine/LV 2                        500/500

Flip: Special Summon a “Bokoichi” or “Dekoichi” monster from your Deck in face-down or face-up Defense position.

This card’s name is also treated as “Bokoichi the Freightening Car” while on the field or in the GY. You can banish this card from your GY, then target up to 2 “Bokoichi” and/or “Dekoichi” monsters from among your banished cards and/or the cards in your GY, other than “Bokoichi Coal Car”; shuffle them into your Deck. You can only activate this effect of “Bokoichi Coal Car” once per turn.

 

Again with more name things, but it does help with set up for Dekoichi stuff. So yeah, it's fine. Not sure if you really need the hard OPT here since Bokoichi/Dekoichi themselves aren't particularly gamebreaking right now.

I guess this is why the last card returns banished stuff. At most, it goes to 3400 and can draw/send 3 cards if it kills something. Otherwise, 2400 and dealing with 1 card isn't particularly terrible. Only issue is that it's effectively a vanilla if it returns from the GY, so.... Some degree of protection might be good here too, so it isn't getting screwed over by targeting removal on opponent's end (see Borreload and friends).

Only purpose of this is really resetting the Main Deck Dekoichis. As mentioned above, the Fusion doesn't really accomplish much once revived, but suppose you can use it as Link Material or ladder again. Right...and I think this could be a Quick-Play so you can at least trigger it on your turn when needed. Being a Trap doesn't do it much favors nowadays with removal being existent.

Card is generally fine for the most part, if only because both of this card's effects build off each one to fill field with more Bokoichi stuff so you can make big Dekoichi for game.
