Giant Gong Shield
[Normal Trap]

Target 1 face-up monster you control; equip this card to that target. The equipped monster loses 600 ATK. Once per turn, the equipped monster cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effect. Your opponent takes any battle damage you would have taken from battles involving the equipped monster.

Although this card has a combination of effects I have seen in separate cards, somehow I still find it a bit dull. I'm not sure why. I guess is card that on paper looks all around good since it has a couple of applications, such as protecting a card from destruction or inflicting heavy battle damage to the opponent by attacking with a low-ATK monster, and yet, on practice you may be better off with backrow with a more specialized role.

In short, the card is good, at the very least as a casual card. It ought to have a niche or some specific applications, but at the moment I cannot think where. Of course, if you were to give it a clause to activate it from the hand, then it would jump a few power levels up, but that can be said about most Trap Cards nowadays.

On its own, card is generally fine for what it does, which is just protecting stuff and forcing the recoil damage on the opponent. Issue being that it doesn't do too much against multiple monsters (though I suppose you could use something like The Dark Door to limit the attacking thing, albeit it stops you too) or multiple forms of removal (but how often is the opponent going to try getting rid of a supposed low-power monster this is equipped to).

Would be great on a monster that already has internal protection so less reliant on this card and more so you can ram it into things to burn, but at the moment, no notable ones come to mind.

Might not see too much play nowadays, but again, blame that on powercreep.

It seems alright, although slightly outdated. It's a variation of "Phantom Knight's Wing" that trades the +500 ATK and potential revival effect for a damage swap.

Suggestion time: Maybe an edge it could have:
-Equipped monster loses, huh... 600 to 800 ATK? aaaaand...
-"Equip to a monster on the field".

^It'd turn a big beater from the opponent into a protected walking Magic Cylinder lite~, because -ATK = they are also not taking as much damage when used that way.

Meanwhile, your monsters could now gain an edge of extra Damage when you use it on them.
