Here is Link support for 10 old archetypes. Enjoy!

Frigg, Mother of the Aesir                           WIND/Plant/Link                   2800 / 3 (DR, D,DL)

3 “Nordic” monsters

You can only activate each effect of “Frigg, Mother of the Aesir” once per turn. If this card is Link Summoned using one each of “Nordic Ascendant”, “Nordic Beast”, and “Nordic Alfar” monsters as Link materials, you can Special Summon an “of the Aesir” Synchro monster from your Extra Deck into a zone this card points to (this is treated as a Synchro Summon). If this card is destroyed by battle or by an opponent’s card effect while you control a level 10 Synchro monster, you can banish a “Nordic” monster from your GY; Special Summon this card, then apply one of the following effects, dependent on the monster banished:

·         Nordic Ascendant: Draw a card.

·         Nordic Beast: Discard a random card from your opponent’s hand.

·         Nordic Alfar: Add a card from your GY to your hand.

Gimmick Puppet Wooden Figure               DARK/Machine/Link             1900 / 2 (DR, DL)

2 Level/Rank 8 monsters

An Xyz monster with 2 or more materials can be treated as 2 materials for this card’s Link Summon. You can only activate the effect of “Gimmick Puppet Wooden Figure” once per turn. You can you target two Xyz monsters you control; move an XYZ material from one to the other, then if this card is pointing to both those monsters, inflict 1000 damage to your opponent’s LP.

Deskbot Prototype                                        EARTH/Machine/Link           500 / 1 (D)

1 Machine monster whose current ATK is higher than its original ATK.

If this card is Link Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 “Deskbot” monster from your GY or from face-up in your Extra Deck with a different original name than the monster used as material for this card’s Link Summon, but it cannot be used as material for a Link Summon for the rest of the turn. Gains ATK equal to the Level of the monster it points to x 500.

Koa'ki Meiru Full Engine                            FIRE/Machine/Link                1400 / 2 (DR, DL)

2 “Koa'ki Meiru” monsters

Once per turn, if a monster(s) in a zone this card points to would be destroyed by a card effect, you may reveal a “Koa'ki Meiru” monster in your hand instead. Once per turn you may add from your Deck to your hand a “Koa'ki Meiru” monster with a different original type from any “Koa'ki Meiru” monsters you control or that are in your GY, then if “Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru” is not in your GY banish this card.

Ancient Gear Living Factory                       EARTH/Machine/Link           1000 / 2 (DR, DL)

2 Fusion/Normal Summoned monsters

Must be Link Summoned and cannot be Special Summoned any other way. Gains 1000 ATK for each level 5 or higher monster used as Link Material for its Link Summon. Once per turn you can banish any number of Machine-Type monsters from your GY; Special Summon a non-Link “Ancient Gear” monster from your GY or Extra Deck whose level exactly equals half the combined levels of the banished monsters, ignoring its summoning conditions.

Ally of Justice Core Eater                            DARK/Machine/Link             1400 / 2 (DR, DL)

2 Machine monsters, including a DARK monster

If this card is Link Summoned you can target an “Ally of Justice” monster in your GY; Special Summon it, but it cannot be used as Material this turn, except for the Synchro Summon of an “Ally of Justice” monster. If this card is Link Summoned using a Tuner as Material, you can target 2 monsters instead. During either player’s turn you can (Quick Effect): Tribute this card; all monsters your opponent currently controls become LIGHT.

Igknight Strategist                                        FIRE/Warrior/Link                 1700 / 2 (DR, DL)

2 Igknight Monsters

If you have 2 “Igknight” monsters in your Pendulum Zones you can also Link Summon this card using both of those monsters as Material. If this card is Link Summoned; you can add an “Igknight” card from your Deck to your hand. If this card was Linked Summoned using 2 “Igknight” monsters with different Pendulum Scales, you can add 2 cards instead. Once per turn you can shuffle 2 face-up cards in your Extra Deck back into your Deck: target 1 card on the field; destroy it. You can only activate each effect of “Igknight Strategist” once per turn.

Naturia Grand Tree                                     EARTH/Plant/Link                 2400 / (DR, D, DL)

3 “Naturia” monsters

If this card is Link Summoned you can target “Naturia” monsters in your GY up to the number of different Types used to Link Summon this card; Special Summon them in face-up Defense position, but they cannot be used as Material for a Link Summon this turn. If you negate the activation of an opponent’s card or effect with the effect of a “Naturia” monster you control, you can Tribute a “Naturia” monster this card points to; banish all cards your opponent controls face-up or that are their GY with the same card type (Monster, Spell, Trap). You can only activate each effect of "Naturia Grand Tree" once per turn.

Ghostrick Cherub Cupid                             DARK/Fairy/Link                   1200 / 2 (DR, DL)

2 “Ghostrick” monsters

The activation of Flip monster effects cannot be negated. For the purpose of “Ghostrick” Field Spell cards, this card and Xyz monsters it points to are treated as face-down Defense Position monsters.

Goyo Guardmaster                                       EARTH/Warrior/Link             1500 / 2 (D, R)

2 Effect monsters

You can only activate each effect of “Goyo Guardmaster” once per turn. During your Main or Battle Phase, you can (Quick Effect): Special Summon a “Goyo” Synchro monster from your Extra Deck to a Zone this card points to (this is treated as a Synchro Summon), and if you do, Tribute this card. If a Synchro monster you control is used as Material for a Synchro or Fusion Summon while this card is in the GY, Special Summon this card but banish it when it leaves the field.

way to spoil everything with the tagz >.

Frigg is interesting, but bad. It's not too easy to meet the requirements for the Link Summon, but it's certainly not impossible, especially for not such a powerful effect. It's just such a shame that the Link does nothing else in terms of actually boosting Nordic's speed/consistency, with the last effect fitting thematically but then making the card useless after you Summon it unless your opponent triggers it. Nice idea, does very little. Aside from the buffs, you could also loosen the Summoning conditions to require only 1 "Nordic" monster; that way you can use Valkyrie to ladder into it. Just a thought.

Wooden Figure has a neat name, and a neat Summoning clause, but unlike the above, I don't see the thematics beyond that. There's a burn, true, but what good will moving Xyz Materials do? Although these Links are a lot more novel than basic "ss from deck or w/e for good archetype", it needs to actually help them. I've looked over this card several times, and I still don't understand it.

Prototype, on the other hand, is amazing. It acts a ladder to replace any Deskbot that just had an on-effect, and knocks down the cost for the Field Spell's hand/gy/ed wipe by 1. Not that this card is too strong in general, but just far too useful as a Link 1 in the context of Deskbots. I can't make any other suggestions here, as I have little to no experience with the Deck save for a few games a year ago.

Full Engine is absolutely beautiful and in-theme and works with their properties and I LOVE IT AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Living Factory isn't great but its effects still work in tandem with the Deck and it extends their plays so...cool. I like both effects, it's just a shame the second one has an identical Spell :P

Core Eater is AMAZING AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Sure it has a generic SS to do more but hey, if it works! Also, hooray for generic materials! Would suggest that the Tuner effect specifies "target 2 "Ally of Justice monsters"" just to be clear that it can't just now target any 2 monsters.

Strategist is...cool. Maybe a bit too easy to use, as it can search 2 scales to immediately summon the 2 monsters it used for its Link Summon, which were almost certainly Pend Scales at the time (why use your Normal/Pend Summon? :v)  I do like that the Link Summon effect has hard once per turn, preventing it from searching to hell and back while letting it stay as a means of recouping your Linked Zones if your opponent Strikes the first one.

Grand Tree is a good idea, but definitely needs hard once per turn on both effects. Without it on the first effect, you can just repeatedly ladder into this card while always going +1 in terms of materials, whereas if it just lacks on the second effect, you can still end up with 2 copies of this card that can absolutely destroy your opponent twice in one turn.

Cupid is simple. It works, I guess, but takes up too many resources for a passive boost.

I see what you did with Guardmaster :3 Can't wait for that chained Mask of Restrict...although you wouldn't really be getting anywhere as this monster is again pretty trash when left on the field, which is a shame. I really don't like monsters which solely act as ladders or means of circumventing MR4; it's a part of the game, we should be working with it not around it.

Some underwhelming support here, but they don't overshadow the absolutely gems you have made. I think this set spans both your capabilities of making very interesting and functional cards and your tendency to get lost in gimmicks and formats. Still, your strengths seem to be the main ones here, and weaknesses are just there to be overcome ^^

I never played Aesir that much so I was worried Frigga wouldn't be any good.

Wooden Figure is designed mostly to support Number C88: Gimmick Puppet Disaster Leo, who has a win con requiring himself to have no materials but starts with 4 of them.

I love Deskbots. I wanted to fit into their whole theme of powering each other up.

Glad to hear you love Full Engine.

In regards to Living Factory, that Spell is pretty much a dead draw 9/10s of the time due to the difficulty of activating it for what it does, so I wanted to make an improved version of it, so I figured what better than to make a Link monster eff.

Yeah, I wasn't sure on the wording to get Core Eater to do what I wanted. TY for the errata suggestion. It bugged me that for all their dependence on the OP having LIGHT they never did anything to ensure it, so here you go.

I ran an Igknight Xyz Flood deck pre-MR4 and hated how much MR4 messed with them. Even with the Metalfoes Link they are barely playable now and certainly not competitively.

Good point on the HOPT for Grand Tree.

I felt it was silly that the two main mechanics of Ghostricks, their Field Spells and Xyz monsters, conflicted with each other. Cupid was an attempt to smooth that out. I considered giving her a Xyz material transferring effect to help with the Rank 4, but felt it overpowered. Come to think of it Wooden Figure could work with the Rank 4...

Guardmaster was designed mostly to allow the use of Goyo Defender. It always bugged me that Master Rule 4 basically made his effect unusable, and I was hoping to correct that.

Glad you liked the cards in general. Are there any other old archetypes you feel could use support?
