Bond of Sisterhood
[Normal Trap]

When a monster you control is destroyed by battle or by card effect: Activate 1 of these effects.

  • Special Summon 1 monster from your Deck who shares the same Attribute of the destroyed monster.
  • Take control of 1 your opponent controls that shares the same Attribute of the destroyed monster.

[spoiler=Flavor + Lore]So without an image... Obviously no one will immediately know anything with what I am going here. Regardless, here is my intent with the lore: So I found it interesting that no cards referenced the relationship of "Wynn the Wind Charmer" and "Winda, Priestess of the Gusto" as sisters that was stated in the Duel Terminal Master Guide... So I took the artistic liberty to take their effects and combine them into card that would reference them effect wise. Image wise I will incorporate the sisters together somehow, but... well... I have to learn how to duplicate a style from this artist: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Akina_Fujiwara (lol I am literally saying "good luck with that" in my head). But, when I will try sometime.

Problem with the second effect is obviously that it is match-up dependent (and targeting protection exists in some capacity nowadays), so might not see much usage. Don't get me wrong; taking control of a monster is always nice, but in most cases, either you steal the opponent's generic ED that happens to match Attribute-wise or do something else to address it. First one's nice enough to float into a bigger monster and likely the one you'll be using more often due to it being more reliable.

So yeah, it's fine.

(Obvious "it's a Trap" thing, but not this card's fault for being slow in an era where backrow has to be minimized.)

  • 2 weeks later...

who shares the same Attribute of the destroyed monster --> with the same Attribute as the destroyed monster

Make it a Continuous Trap and you may be onto something. Otherwise, the card is good for casual play, but could be better.
