Madolche Puddingcessoeur

lv 4 EARTH

Fairy/Effect

If you have no monsters in your GY: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. You can only Special Summon "Madolche Puddingcessoeur" this way once per turn. If this card is Special Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 “Madolche” monster from your hand or Deck, except “Madolche Puddingcessoeur”, and if you do, reduce its Level by 1, also for the rest of the turn, you cannot Special Summon monsters, except “Madolche” monsters. You can only activate this effect of "Madolche Puddingcessoeur" once per turn. If this card in your possession is destroyed and sent to the GY by your opponent: Return this card to the Deck.

ATK/1400 DEF/1400

Was close to being the next Terrortop, but that Summon restriction ruined it, what a bummer.

Still, it's a EARTH-Fairy-Level4 Thrasher in an opening turn. That should be worth of something... right?

Well in an opening hand for summoning this to get Puddingcess in order to make Tiaramisu off 1 card is likely the idea behind this card (along with making instant Link 2's in the form of Madolche Fresh Sistart).

But opening Tiaramisu and Sistart barely does anything. IDK how Madolches can open a duel nowadays, but I doubt the restriction would let them establish anything solid. They used to go for Naturia Beast and whatnot pre MR4. Going second, sure, this should be great for accessing Tiaramisu and attempting to break a board. And the go-to play ought to be Summon this --> Summon Anjelly --> Summon Hootcake --> Summon Messengelato --> Grab a Spell/Trap...

Play an engine of 3 of this and 1 Anjelly to make Tiaramisu and shuffle 2. Obviously only usable in decks that don't Special Summon, and it would compete with cards like Duality and Demise in such decks. But maybe for certain formats where a double non-targeting shuffle is valuable.

For clarity's sake, the engine goes like this:

1) Go second against something you want to shuffle.

2) Don't have any handtraps in GY (except Impermanence)

3) Use this card's effect to SS itself, and then its other effect to SS Anjelly

4) Anjelly eff to summon another copy of this card, thus resetting the level back to 4 and more importantly, putting a Madolche in the GY.

5) Xyz for Tiaramisu, use its effect to target the Anjelly you put in GY and the Puddingcessoeur you detached.

6) Shuffle 2 from your GY to shuffle 2 from your opponent's board

7) Optional: Rank up into Chocolat-a-la-mode for 300 extra ATK.

Put simply, it seems like a good combo in bad decks. I'll probably use it.

I think the main problem with using it as an engine is that it puts a real strain on the deck. I mean, it restricts what you can summon for the REST of the turn, which is all well and good, but then how many decks are making substantial plays that don't actually put any monsters in the GY before summoning this?

...or, as you said, they could just not care about SSing.

In any case, it'd be unique because it is a fundamentally different type of engine. It'd be a board-breaker/answer engine rather than a more progressive one (Brilliant Fusion/Predaplant/Speedroid/etc) or a stun/counter engine (Psyframe).

If things turn to a point where people build boards of powerful monsters but don't run/use negation, that would be a time for an engine like this to shine. Otherwise, it'll stay "meh" as an engine and (I assume) will only really be used in its home deck.
