(CaC Archetype) Unshackled Archetype

An archetype focused around shuffling the opponent's deck while benefiting off of it. This also discourages the opponent wanting to search the deck.


A common effect most if not all will share within the archetype: If your opponent would shuffle their Deck or if this card is Summoned: You can do blah. If your opponent would shuffle their Deck while all face-up monsters you control are "Unshackled" monsters (min. 1) except the turn this card was Summoned: you can do blah. You can only activate each effect of "Unshackled blah" once per turn.

Unshackled Bolt of Rebellion: Quick-Play Spell
Shuffle your opponent's Deck then, destroy 1 "Unshackled" card you control and 2 cards your opponent controls.

Forgotten Lands of the Unshackled: Field Spell
All monsters except "Unshackled" monsters you control loses 300 ATK and DEF. When this card is activated: Add 1 "Unshackled" card except "Forgotten Lands of the Unshackled" from your Deck to your hand. During the Standby Phase, you can have your opponent shuffle their Deck. During either player's turn, you can discard 1 "Unshackled" card; draw 1 card. You can only activate each effect of "Forgotten Lands of the Unshackled" once per turn.

Omen of the Unshackled Tribe: Quick-Spell
Special Summon 1 "Unshackled" monster from your Deck in Defense Position. You can not Special Summon monsters except "Unshackled" monsters until the End Phase. During your Main Phase while this card is in the GY except the turn this card was sent to the GY; you can banish 1 card you control; add this card to your hand. You can only activate each effect of "Omen of the Unshackled Tribe" once per turn.

Return of the Unshackled Tribe: Quick-Play Spell
Add 1 "Unshackled" card except "Omen of the Unshackled Tribe" from your GY to your hand. During your Main Phase while this card is in the GY except the turn this card was sent to the GY; you can discard 1 card; add this card to your hand. You can only activate each effect of "Return of the Unshackled Tribe" once per turn.

Chant of the Unshackled Tribe: Normal Spell
Shuffle 1 card in your hand into your Deck; Add 2 "Unshackled" monsters with different names from your Deck or GY to your hand. You can not Special Summon monsters except "Unshackled" monsters until the End Phase. During your Main Phase while this card is in the GY, you can banish this card; randomly discard 1 card from your opponent's hand. You can only activate each effect of "Chant of the Unshackled Tribe" once per turn.

You can only activate each effect of "Unshackled Oskar" once per turn.

You can only activate each effect of "Unshackled Omi" once per turn.

If your opponent would shuffle their Deck or if this card is Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 level 4 or lower "Unshackled" monster from your GY. If your opponent would shuffle their Deck while all face-up monsters you control are "Unshackled" monsters (min. 1) except the turn this card was Summoned: you can place 1 "Unshackled" counter on 1 face-up card your opponent controls. If a card has 2 or more "Unshackled" Counters on, remove all counters from the card then, you take control of that card. You can only activate each effect of "Unshackled Omi" once per turn.

I really like the idea of it. Considering the state of modern yugioh, you'll probably be able to resolve the on-shuffle effects at every one of your opponent's turns. Albeit, having the effects also activate each time the monsters are summoned makes some of them, particularly Oz, overpowered. I'm sorry, but a Stratos that also happens on each of your opponent's turns is probably enough to make any deck Tier 0. Also, Chant really needs some sort of restriction, because as is, it's Reinforcement of the Army and Confiscation in one card. Where you can use both effects in the same turn. But outside of some power issues, the deck itself seems like it would be fun to play. It gives your opponent choices and makes them ask how much they are willing to go through for a single search. Can't wait for more cards!
