Alien Soldier Mighty/Frame / Alien Shocktrooper Mighty/Frame
Light Reptile / Link / Effect
Link-2 1900 / BL BR
2 Reptile monsters
You can only use this card name's (1) and (2) effects once per turn each.
(1) (Quick Effect): You can discard 1 monster; place A-Counters on face-up monsters equal to the original Level of the discarded monster.
(2) If this card is destroyed by battle or card effect and sent to the GY: You can Special Summon any number of Reptile monsters with different names from your GY, except Link Monsters, up to the number of monsters your opponent controls with A-Counters.

Yes~ This is exactly what Aliens needed: An Extra Deck monster  with a thorough way to distribute A-Counters. Now Spell/Traps that require A-Counters like Brainwashing Wave, Code A Ancient Ruins, etc are way more feasible to use. And not to mention those Spells and Traps can mitigate the minus to use this guys effects as they are surprisingly strong.

This isn't even good. It might enable the deck a bit more, but that's settling for what you must, not getting a good card.

Needing to go neg just to enable your cards is ridiculous.

Well Brainwashing steals a monster so that is +1 and the cost would make it neutral. And Code A Brings back stuff (provided you have at least 2 A-Counters) from GY and that is +1 once again neutral.

And that doesn't change that going neg in order to enable those isn't worth it.

Other decks don't have to go neg to do those things. funking Darklords steal monsters on a -1 (read: +0) or a +2 (opp loses 1, you gain 1). And that's not even good. Thievery is not the beast it once was, and Aliens fell behind on it.

Revival is also better.

Needing to go neg in order to enable this isn't good. That means you're paying a card in order to enable things that other decks do better. Yes, it can be valuable, but so many things have to go right in order for that to happen, when you're already investing an absolute minimum of 2 cards for this to be effective, though likely more than that.

This is not a good support. They'll take what they can get, but that does not make this good. Doesn't even compare to the Quickplay they got back in Arc-V.

As others stated before, this doesn't look good enough. While Aliens do want more A-Counter generators that are practical, this does it as a cost. Then the second effect is too reliant on the opponent. At least you can destroy it yourself to trigger it, but you will need your opponent to control multiple monsters to reap benefits from it.

Heck, it doesn't even carry the iconic A-counter star-reduction effect for surprise reductions during a Battle Phase.

This card is fine. It's easy to summon and it can place A-Counters, which is more or less what I'd hope an Alien Link-2 could do. Sure, other decks got stronger Link monsters, and discarding a card isn't always ideal, but it works well with the archetype and what more can you really ask for.

Aliens were already a functional casual deck, if a bit slow. This doesn't really speed them up much but it makes cards like Brainwashing Beam. Code A Ancient Ruins and Mysterious Triangle a lot more usable, as you are no longer having to rely on "A" Cell Recombination Device and Alien Dog for counter placement.

Thinking about it, you could use Mysterious Triangle as a means of destroying this and triggering its effect, during either player's turn. That honestly seems really awesome.

Also, this card, along with Tsuchinoko, gives me a great reason to finally play Danger! Aliens! And it makes Divine Serpent Geh an amusing option that can be searched by King of the Feral Imps.

It is not even bad, it is simply that it would need to summon from the deck, not rely on the opponent's field and trigger upon leaving in any way to make up for the subpar reptile pool.

An ok Link 2 does not change that and it does not help that better (and larger) types like Warriors have something like Isolde.
