Thunderbolt Dragon

Thunder/Fusion/Effect

2 Thunder monsters

This card is treated as "Thunder Dragon" while on the field or in your GY. Must be Fusion Summoned. When this card is Fusion Summoned: increase your LP equal to the number of Thunder monsters you control x 500. When this card is sent to the GY or banished: Special Summon up to 2 "Thunder Dragon" from your hand, deck or GY. During the turn you activate this effect, you cannot summon monsters except Thunder monsters. You can only activate each effect of "Thunderbolt Dragon" once per turn.

ATK/1600 DEF/1500

 

So Thunderbolt acts as a generic Thunder Fusion which can be summoned via Instant Fusion in Thunder Dragons where it gives your LP a electric charge and when its sent to the grave or banished gets you 2 original Thunder Dragons to the field where both effects are limited by the hard OPT and this card is limited to being Fusion summoned meaning it can't be brought back by its own effect.

 

Ideally this can be summoned as a Instant Fusion target to then summon another Thunder monster to make the Link 2 Thunder Monster which would then trigger this cards effect to get 2 original Thunder Dragons to the field for either making a Link 4 or expanding on other plays.

Quite strong, and the "only Thunders" Special Summon lock wouldn't affect them too much AFAIK. Well, it would discourage variants like Invoked or Dino Thunders, I guess. My question is: why would you give Thunder Dragons a card like this? They are already doing well, so it's kind of an overkill.

This card is definately quite powerful! to make it more balenced I would change it to: 'When this card is sent to the GY or banished by battle or card effect' that was you wont be able to swarm (which I know is the soul purpose of the card and I know you wouldnt want to do that!) Although only being able to fusion summon it stops re swarming etc after you pop its effect to get two thunder dragons out. (could summon it with instant fusion, link it / xyz / synchro it to something else, pop its effect, bring it back and have 3 level 5 monsters available to link/ xyz summon, use it as material with another card, 2 more thunder dragons would pop etc. you could have a full field turn 2, which even in modern yugioh seems quite op! I do like the thunder dragon concept though maybe making it three thunder level 5 monsters?
