Blitzkrieg Bombardment

Continuous Trap Card

Once per turn: You can detach any number of materials from Machine Xyz monsters you control, then target that many cards on the field; destroy them. If a Machine Xyz monster(s) you control is destroyed by battle or an opponent’s card effect while this card is in your GY: you can banish this card and 1 Machine Xyz monster in your GY; inflict damage to your opponent equal to the Rank of the banished monster x 200.

This card seems interesting. It's definitely a good going first option. If you have this along with Super Dora with a Derricrane under it, you can effectively get 2 free card destructions during your opponent's turn which is pretty nice. On the other hand though, it doesn't do much for you going second, since the deck seems to have moved more in the direction of OTKs recently, but in longer games it certainly has it's uses.

 

The burn is interesting. You can get values ranging from

 

Rank 4: 800 Damage ( Number 27 or Iron Wolf ) 

Rank 10: 2000 Damage ( Gustav or Dora ) 

Rank 11: 2200 Damage ( Juggernaut Liebe )

Rank 12: 2400 Damage ( Great Magnus ) 

 

While burn isn't the most important part of the deck, much like Gustav, the ability to get giant swings of burn damage can be pretty important for finishing duels. It could either prevent an opponent from destroying your monsters, knowing that they could take a 2000+ burn from it, or could finish off an unknowing opponent. Definitely an interesting part of the card. 

 

While I would have preferred a link monster to this, it certainly isn't bad. It has it's uses for sure. 

 

Also, given that the TCG censored Gustav's cannon, will they change this artwork? I would hope not, but we just gotta wait and see on that one. Hopefully it doesn't get here as a giant bunch of lasers instead of explosions.

It's not that it's a bad card, because it kind of isn't. It's not amazing, but it's definitely pretty decent for disruption. The problem is that the deck would have absolutely adored a proper means of getting Pegasus from the deck to your hand, or something to increase draw power, or another means to get an EARTH Machine on the field without a normal summon.

 

The deck is very, very close to being fully updated and competent for MR4, it just lacks like, one or two good cards. This is not what one of those cards needs to be.

At the very least this allows them to be more disruptive if they have to go first, something they are currently still struggling with.

Hopefully the Link 2 allows to search this card, Traptrick is a neat trick, however that card can easily be drawn 2 times, which leaves you a dead copy.

And Train Decks definitely want to open with this and a Dora, with an attached Derricrane for interruption.

 

Traptrick only searches normal traps, this one is continuous
