Pretty self explanatory. the gubmint came for his guns, he said no, he died. The law's illegal as all hell, as the man involved had committed no crimes to that date, he was well withing his rights to tell them to bugger off. as much as people like to say nobody's coming for your guns, these new red flag laws are effectively just that.

'Anne Arundel County Police arrived at the house at 5:17 a.m. to remove guns from the home under a new law that temporarily allows for the seizure of firearms if a person shows'

Why the hell did they try and seize a gun from a man at 5 oclock in the morning, if someone I wasnt expecting was to knock on the door at that time I would answer with a fire arm if I had one! absolutely ludicrous

Not completely, but the cop who shot him deserves to be shot or thrown in jail for a long time.

The cop didn't know he was the good guy and he couldn't risk starting to question him because hwat if he actually was a bad guy who survived. It's totally justified, if tragic.

ok, so he shouldn't be shot, but jail time, or at least firing, for gross negligence is in order. I get it, he was entering a tense situation, but there's no way in hell he shouldn't have been able to at least declare his presence before opening fire. from the story we have, the bartender had already solved the issue, the rest of the patrons should have been capable of informing the officer that the problem had been taken care of. the fact that he got killed implies the cop, instead of declaring his own presence, fired first. that's irresponsible, and is one of the contributors to situations where innocents get injured or killed on police calls.

I get that but surely as soon as he saw the police he would have thrown his gun away! looks like they didnt assess the situation at all and went in like blundering idiots! I understand why he was shot but surely you would put your gun down for the police when you have done nothing wrong! Its their job to tell you to put down the weapon (being a serviceman my self before rasing fire you HAVE to tell them to stop unless they impose immediate threat; Your telling me he pointed a gun at an officer? I highly doubt it.)
