I've been a longtime YuGiOh fan, the first pack I ever opened was a Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon. Over the past handful of years though, I've been more of an on-and-off fan, the last competitive format I really paid attention to was the Elemental Dragons vs Spellbooks format of '13 I believe.

That said, I still love YuGiOh, and I still love playing casually here and there. I don't really know or understand what Pendulum or Link summoning is (and I don't really like the way Pendulum cards look if I'm being honest) but I like making Custom cards and I look forward to getting along with everyone.

Hey no worries you're not alone with not quite getting new mechanics. Anyway, welcome! Make sure to look over the rules for the section and take a careful look at the custom card specific rules, which can be found in the sections. You'd probably want to stick to Casual more often as Advanced generally will need more knowledge of the current game.

There's plenty of people here who would be willing to help you out if you ask though. But if you have any questions about the site or the rules make sure to come to a Moderator first.

...Also, I love how simple your name is. Shocked that one isn't taken already lol

Hi.

What do you like besides Yu-Gi-Oh!?

I like anime/manga a lot, and even though I'm not great at it, I enjoy drawing as well. I also love to play music, and own a guitar. I have some interest in reading about history and linguistics as well.

Howdy weeb,

What kinda mangas do you read?

I tend to watch more anime than read manga, but recently i've been doing a little more of both. I think right now I feel most attracted to fantasy or alternate world settings with manga. just today I finished the 100th chapter of One Piece, and I think it's really great. i would also like to read Made in Abyss since I watched the anime and thought it was cool, so I might pick that up soon. also last week I was reading some Dragon Half, it's a fantasy comedy and it's really funny.

there's some other stuff I'm interested in starting (like Berserk and Claymore) but right now, I'm just all about One Piece. got a ways to go before I'm caught up.

I'm like 90% to a bachelor's in linguistics if you'd like to discuss that.

What's like your favorite part of linguistics to study? Personally, I think I'm interested in historical linguistics a lot. reading about Proto-Indo European and stuff like that really fascinates me.

I always thought it would be kinda cool to pursue a degree in Linguistics and then work on translating Hittite tablets or something like that, but i've never studied linguistics in an academic setting. I think it's really cool that you are getting a degree in it.

Hello there! You've already been here for a day or two, but I'd still like to throw out my shout out and greetings so heya! >.<

Welcome to the site! We're both in kind of similar situations as returning players who at a loss with all these new weird mechanics, but let's do our best to show what we old school noobs got XD

I hope ya have an amazing time here and looking forward to working with ya!

Hey thanks, sorry I didn't see this reply sooner.

"Old school noob," hahah I like that, that's pretty accurate for me.

Phonology, syntax, and morphology. I like psycholinguistics, too. It's my adoration for language as art, the noblesse of the authors, that attracts me to the construction of sentences, which are comprised of unlimited syntactic permutations, and the peripheral lexical and semantic spheres, which influence the dictionーthe cosmetic elements on the literary tablet. Altogether is writing as cosmology, deliberate causal chains all over filtering other branches of possibility from intertwining (unless you write something like Borges' Garden of Forking Paths, or Pierre Menard, Author of the Quixote), deliberate, noble prosody and prose from macrocosm to microcosm; paragraphical to phrasal to dictive; as above, so below; the apotheosis of rigid ice fragments to formless water. It's literary and magical, and I mean to say really magical, like Pythagoras, Isaac Newton, John Dee, Nagarjuna, Wittgenstein, and the Vedists would say.

I'm not very much into philology, but just lmk if you want to talk about the field or something. I really really love parts of it.
