Byzantius Helas

● Sea Serpent: Negate its effects, also it cannot attack.
● Aqua: Until the end of this turn, take control of it, but it cannot be used as a Material for a Summon.

Byzantium School

For the rest of thus turn, Fish and Sea Serpent monsters you control cannot be targeted by your opponent’s card effects, and FIRE monsters you control cannot be destroyed by card effects. If you control 3 or more "Byzantium" monsters, you can activate this card from your hand.



This is an idea I've had for ages, but I've never been happy with how they've turned out. Eventually I realized the best way to see how they actually are is to ask for you guys' opinions on it. Thematically, I wanted to deal with FIRE + Sea Serpent/Fish/Aqua, and then I thought of Greek Fire, and now you have Byzantius/Byzantium. A bunch of Fishies in Greek armor forming stronger warriors together in more mechanical forms. Man mechanic came from the idea of Fishes fighting both in and out of water (the banished zone) as Greek Fire did, so this Ritual-Beast-esque mechanic.

Basic strats is to open any 2 Byzantius', unless both of them are Kormos, Baros and/or Psari. Get 2 out, and eventually set up a strong selection of banish monsters for you to tag in and out. The problem is that I don't know if I've managed to balance the obviously rather strong mechanic of resetting OPT mechanics and dodging targeting effects in and out with all of the monsters. Still, that's what I'm hoping you guys can help with!
