Armagallon

AND NOW I NORMAL SUMMON!

This FIRE Aqua-Type archetype is themed after liquid fuels, accelerants, and any other fluid that is easily used to start, spread, or intensify fires. Notably, the entire archetype is devoted to making a single Normal Summon a huge swing in advantage; all archetypal monsters, in addition to their existing effects on-Summon, have effects that trigger if another archetypal monster is Normal Summoned, making extra Normal Summons through methods like Chain Summon, Arrivalrivals, or their own Normal Summon machine a titanic boost to their power and consistency.

Then, of course, with all those monsters, you need to do something with them to make room . . . so you have Xyz monsters at the ready to deny your opponent of things that could potentially kill your advantage. You have one that CDI negates backrow, one that can deny your opponent a Special Summon, one that kills your opponent's attempts to mass-remove your board . . . and all of those share two effects. One lets them eat the bottom card out of your opponent's Graveyard when they destroy a monster by battle, and one that banishes any non-archetypal card that gets detached from them.

The backrow is generally rather sparse, but the cards you do have are mostly Continuous cards that protect the sacred Normal Summon and the effects that follow it, or extra consistency in the form of things like an Avarice clone with a Graveyard effect and an archetypal double Reborn that gives you only one Special Summon after activation.

It was halfway through writing this prompt that I fell in love with the idea. It sounds really simple at first, especially considering that a lot of modern Decks don't give a flying funk about their Normal Summon, but the idea of building a board full of little fodder monsters exclusively to make a huge swing in advantage when you actually Normal Summon is just so fun, conceptually.

The initial post used Level 4 monsters as a sample, but I actually found that I preferred them as a Rank 3 Deck, if only to keep the Deck more focused on its gimmick instead of being used to churn out Rank 4 Xyz in the AGM's MR3 format.

[spoiler=Main Deck Monsters]

Armagallon Napalm

FIRE - Level 3 - Aqua/Effect - 1100/1000

If you control no Special Summoned monsters: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. During the turn this card is Normal Summoned, you can Normal Summon 1 additional "Armagallon" monster this turn (you can only apply this effect of this card's name once per turn). If you Normal Summon an "Armagallon" monster while you control this face-up card: You can add 1 "Armagallon" Spell/Trap Card from your Deck to your hand.

Armagallon Kerosene

FIRE - Level 3 - Aqua/Effect - 1500/200

If this card is Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 "Armagallon" monster with a Level from your Graveyard, except "Armagallon Kerosene". If you Normal Summon an "Armagallon" monster while you control this face-up card, you can target 1 card your opponent controls: Return that target to your opponent's hand. If an "Armagallon" monster(s) you control, except "Armagallon Kerosene" is destroyed by your opponent's card: You can Special Summon this card from your Graveyard (you can only activate this effect of "Armagallon Kerosene" once per turn).

Armagallon Ethanol

FIRE - Level 3 - Aqua/Effect - 400/200

You can Special Summon this card from your hand (you can only Summon 1 "Armagallon Ethanol" this way per turn). If this card is Normal Summoned: You can send 1 "Armagallon" monster from your Deck to the Graveyard. If you Normal Summon an "Armagallon" monster while you control this face-up card: You can add 1 "Armagallon" monster from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand.

Armagallon Gasoline

FIRE - Level 3 - Aqua/Effect - 1000/0

You can reveal this card and 1 other "Armagallon" monster in your hand: Special Summon this card, then immediately Normal Summon the other revealed monster (you can only Summon 1 "Armagallon Gasoline" per turn this way). If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 "Armagallon" monster from your hand, except "Armagallon Gasoline". If you Normal Summon an "Armagallon" monster while you control this face-up card: You can destroy 1 card your opponent controls.

Armagallon Butane

FIRE - Level 3 - Aqua/Effect - 100/2000

If this card is Normal Summoned, you can target 1 monster your opponent controls: Negate that target's effects, and if you do; change this card to Defense Position. If you Normal Summon an "Armagallon" monster while you control this face-up card: You can banish up to 2 cards from your opponent's Graveyard. While this card is in your Graveyard, if you control a face-up "Armagallon" monster: You can Special Summon this card from your Graveyard, but banish it when it leaves the field (you can only Summon 1 "Armagallon Butane" this way per turn).

Armagallon Acetone

FIRE - Level 3 - Aqua/Effect - 300/300

When this card is Normal Summoned: Reduce the ATK of all monsters your opponent controls by 100, then inflict damage to your opponent equal to that lost ATK. If you Normal Summon an "Armagallon" monster while you control this face-up card: You can reduce all damage you take until the end of your opponent's next turn by 100 for each "Armagallon" monster you controlled when that monster was Summoned (even if this card leaves the field). If your opponent Special Summons a monster(s) from their Extra Deck: You can Special Summon this card from your hand or Graveyard, and if you do; you can immediately Normal Summon 1 "Armagallon" monster (you can only apply this effect of this card's name once per turn).

[spoiler=Spells]

Armagallon Refinery

Field Spell

"Armagallon" monsters you control gain 200 ATK for each "Armagallon" monster you control. If you Normal Summon an "Armagallon" monster: You can return 1 random card from your opponent's hand to the top of their Deck. If this face-up card in the Field Zone leaves the field: You can return 1 "Armagallon" card from your Graveyard to your hand, except "Armagallon Refinery"; Normal Summon 1 "Armagallon" monster.

Armagallon Distribution Drums

Continuous Spell

If an "Armagallon" monster is Normal Summoned successfully, your opponent cannot activate cards or effects in that Chain. If a card is sent to the Graveyard by battle with or the effect of an "Armagallon" monster, except an "Armagallon" card, it cannot activate its effects in the Graveyard that turn.

Armagallon Transport Trucks

Continuous Spell

Your opponent cannot negate the Summon of an "Armagallon" monster, or the effect of an "Armagallon" monster that was Summoned this turn. Once per turn, if you control 2 or more "Armagallon" monsters, including at least 1 Normal Summoned monster: You can add 1 "Armagallon" monster from your Deck to your hand, but monsters with the same name as the added monster cannot be Normal Summoned for the rest of this turn.

Armagallon Refueling

Normal Spell

Shuffle 5 "Armagallon" cards from your Graveyard into your Deck, except "Armagallon Refueling": Draw 2 cards. If you Normal Summon an "Armagallon" monster while this card is in your Graveyard: You can target 1 "Armagallon" monster in your Graveyard; shuffle that target into your Deck and banish this card, and if you do, your opponent's monsters lose 100 ATK for each card that is currently banished, then you gain LP equal to double that combined lost ATK.

Armagallon Accelerant

Normal Spell

Target 2 "Armagallon" monsters in your Graveyard: Special Summon both targets. If this effect resolves, you can only Special Summon a monster(s) 1 additional time this turn.
