I desperately want this thread to be successful

Be careful what you wish for....

Izzet it worth it to make this thread?

OT: So I ran into this little (debate/argument) during EDH Day then later on social media as some colleagues where still going on about it.

Izzet it worth it to run MENTAL MISSTEP in a completive EDH Commander Deck? (I'll forgive you if you are not into EDH Commander/Completive EDH Commander)

Mental Misstep information:

Card Name: Mental Misstep

Mana Cost: Phyrexian Blue

Converted Mana Cost: 1

Type: Instant Spell

Card Text: (Phyrexian Blue can be paid with either Blue or 2 life.) Counter target spell with converted mana cost 1.

Flavor Text: "Your first mistake was thinking I would let you live long enough to make a second." —Sarnvax, Gitaxian sective

Watermark: Phyrexian

Expansion: New Phyrexia (Uncommon) New Phyrexia

Rarity: Uncommon

Card Number: 38

Artist: Erica Yang

Rulings:

6/1/2011 A card with Phyrexian mana symbols in its mana cost is each color that appears in that mana cost, regardless of how that cost may have been paid.

6/1/2011 To calculate the converted mana cost of a card with Phyrexian mana symbols in its cost, count each Phyrexian mana symbol as 1.

6/1/2011 As you cast a spell or activate an activated ability with one or more Phyrexian mana symbols in its cost, you choose how to pay for each Phyrexian mana symbol at the same time you would choose modes or choose a value for X.6/1/2011 If you’re at 1 life or less, you can’t pay 2 life.

6/1/2011 Phyrexian mana is not a new color. Players can’t add Phyrexian mana to their mana pools.

6/1/2011 If a spell has Variable Colorless in its mana cost, X is considered to be the value chosen for it while that spell is on the stack.

6/1/2011 Each Phyrexian mana symbol in a spell’s mana cost contributes 1 to that spell’s converted mana cost. For example, Mental Misstep’s converted mana cost is 1, regardless of how its cost was paid.

how difficult would it be to learn mtg in comparison to how difficult it would be to learn this bullshit game from scratch

honestly not difficult at all. You'll have it figured out in an afternoon.

JABRONI stop copypasting sheet that doesn't matter.

I guarantee your deck isn't competitive enough to runmental misstep. Real competitive scenes, it's great, but from what I've seen of your decks it would be awful.

Personally attacking/assaulting me gains you what? You could have just answered the question.

it's an objective assessment. Your decklist you've shown off are at a very casual level, probably comparable to precon decks.

This isn't an insult. EDH was created as a casual format, so to consider "casual" as a bad thing is fallacious.

What is your favourite faction from Unstable?

I'm thinking of building a Pegasus themed deck (just casual 60 cards) which uses Boreas Charger to search lands as fuel for Pegasus Stampede's buyback cost. Possibly with some life gain for Storm Herd! What do you think

If you could choose any Creature Type to receive tribal support which Type would it be?
