So they did address Phoenix Blade unlike TCG.

Bans on Firewall and Invoker don't surprise me, the rest does. Were Plants doing too much over there or what?

What with the hit on Dark Matter Dragon? Preemptive measures for Guardragon? Measures against Gandora FTK?

Limit on Needlefiber shouldn't hurt much.

Hits on Kagari and Multifaker gives me the impression that want to cycle out Altergeist and Strikers already.

+1 Denglong? A bit of love for YZs I guess since the more relevant that splash it don't need more than 1 AFAIK.

I would be surprised if these hits don't re-shape the meta. Furthermore, the victory of Prank-kids in YCS Milan of this year could shake some things up in OCG as well, IDK.

As a semi-competitive, virtual TCG/OCG player running Sky Striker Mekk-Knights, the hits on Kagari would hurt the deck badly and even with 2+ ED slots available plus support from the Mekks, I doubt the deck would be any potent anymore. I think I would have to find another deck to mess with, for whenever I play with OCG format.

EDIT:

By the way, you wrote "Knowledge" instead of "Ceasefire".

Goblin's ban surprised you? Considering TCG did it a couple of lists ago.

Yes, but to me it looked like TCG scapegoating Goblin for Firewall. They did ban Firewall later on and yet didn't move Goblin up, but that felt more like a lazy move to me. IMO Goblin doesn't need a hit, since it's an splashable combo-extender that can help so many decks.

Y'know I'd be fine with Goblin coming back to @1 now that Firewall is gone, but the OCG banning Goblin makes me think that Goblin might not move up for some time.

@@Darj Basically with Glow-Up an Dandy, it was just link spam stuff. Summon Glow-Up off of Needlefiber, make a link with it, revive Glow-Up with its own effect to serve as a link material again. Basically just free stuff for Needlefiber to abuse. Dandylion, I presume, was because it farted out 2 free tokens nearly effortlessly, which is 2 more link mats.

It still feels way too over kill.

Also wonder why they didn't copy the TCG and limit Armageddon and semi-Mali. Might end up biting them

Thank you OCG, very cool, I too enjoy having my decks neutered for no reason

Well yes, but were they that problematic? I know Needlefiber --> Glow-Up could easily lead to a Borrel or Link4 and go for an OTK or break a board, but was it that much of a problem to go as far as banning Glow-Up? Then, looking at the banlist and Gouki topping decklists, Mathematician --> mill Dandy is a glaring combo, and they went as far as to hit both. Not to mention Sorceress and now Firewall were dealt with. I'm skeptical on their hits and I think they instead could have just hit more Gouki stuff in addition to Invoker. Besides, it seems Goukis took advantage of Math and Dandy as Level3s for Invoker and I'm guessing Cherubini as well, but with Invoker no longer around, they may not need them as much anymore, so it really looks like an overkill banlist move.

Bulb may come back eventually I guess?

IDK. Does it have to? For Link laddering purposes, O-Lion should be close to an effective replacement of it as it also translates into an extra monster when it hits the GY. A notable difference is that Glow-Up as a Tuner could be used for Synchros like Borreload Savage Dragon, but other than Pendulum Magicians, I don't see other topping decks that ran Synchros along Glow-Up.

And now that Tuner will be O-Lion. Get used to Summoning Wendigo instead of our lady and savior Sheky :v

You might as well play Hero Dolls then

Stratos to make Wendigo, then use Mali to make Beatrice

I found this from uh 2 formats ago iirc, might be worth looking into

The needlefiber limit is brutal though

More so than wendigo, you're gonna see a lot more of Jet Synchron and Grysta

You could also go back to the Triple Pillars version of Dolls given Denglong is at 2. Infernity barriar every turn can likely stop the bleeding. Then again, losing the second needle hurts there as well. It's just bad news all over for us

I would need to see the deck in action to understand better how losing a Needlefiber is a big hit. I would think it's good enough to keep the 1 copy on board to make it float during the opponent's turn and use the 2 pointed Zones for ED follow-ups.

Dino Dolls with Construct around seems promising, yeah. I have not tested any Shaddoll builds in TCG because they don't dare to allow Construct back yet.

Yeah, not exactly sure what to do on Doll front, I guess the spellbook engine is semi-consistent again?

IDK, it so happens to be hit by this list with a semi-Limit on Knowledge. I would test a Dino and/or Invoked engines first. I have always thought that Aleister is good for Shaddolls as material for Winda/Midrash, stunning a bit with Caliga, getting a Fusion Spell if you didn't hard-draw any Shaddoll Fusion Spell, and empowering the Shaddoll Fusions with its ATK-boosting effect.

Invoked might work actually. But your normals are going to be really limited right now. Think about it, Armageddon, Invoker Blue Boy?

No Blue boy, IMO. The clash would be between Armageddon and Aleister. Heck, theoretically you could keep 1 Aleister/2 Invocation as an  simplified engine and fill the rest with Armageddon plus DARK friends or Dino stuff, IDK.

Not playing the spellbook engine?

We got Juggler back to 2, but I still feel Cydra is the better engine here. I could be wrong on that however

Would rather not, personally. What are you going to run? 3 Boy, 3 Secrets, 2 Knowledge? Too much space for some draw power when AFAIK you are better off putting monsters on board than trading them for card draws. But IDK, I'm rusty with Shaddolls.
