Guest BGMCANN0N
Keylogger JackEARTH✪✪ (Level 2)[Cyberse/Flip/Effect]ATK/ 200 DEF/ 1600FLIP: Special Summon 1 Cyberse Link monster from your Extra Deck with a Link Rating equal to or lower than the number of cards your opponent controls (This is treated as a Link Summon). If this card is sent to the GY by card effect or by battle from a Main Monster Zone a Link monster(s) points to: Draw a number of cards equal to the number of monsters that pointed to this card. [spoiler=Concept + Wordplay]https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lumberjackhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keystroke_loggingSo the concept really is ingrained in the wordplay by combining these 2 unlikely things together. Essentially what it would be is a cybernetic looking lumberjack using a chainsaw to cut down trees made of keys (the ones on a computer keyboard). Yeah that visual was really lingering in my head. XDWordplay:Keylogger + (Lumberjack - Lumber) = Pormanteau How this wordplay came about is actually due to the fact that the word "keylogger" had the word "log" in it which is also a piece of lumber by English definition. [spoiler=Tip]If this card is attacked by a monster that would destroy it by battle and neither you or your opponent controls a Link Monster that points to this card, Special Summon a Link monster that will point to this card with its 1st effect to get a draw from the 2nd effect. The reason for this is that Flip effects occur during the Damage Step, prior to the monster being destroyed. [spoiler=Intent]Really it is to make a Cyberse monster with one of the unlikely Subtypes (Gemini, Flip, Union, Spirit) since they have yet to exist. Also, it is to still follow the general motif of Cyberse Main Deck monsters supporting Links of their ilk.
Darj
I don't like it. Shortcutting into Link Monsters directly in this way is asking for abuse. It's even a proper Link Summon!Something like this + Book of Taiyou + giving monsters to the opponent in one way or another (e.g. Grinder Golem, Temple of Kings + Ojama Trio) comes to mind. So HOPT, and improper Link Summoning? Or Link Rating cap on what can be Summoned? Or what about Summoning some form of Tokens instead that would tie with draw power effect by including Main Monster Zones that the Tokens are Summoned to? I have been too harsh with my first review. Shortcut Link Summons are not that strong if one considers the existence of Tomahawk and Phantom Skyblasters, which generate enough Tokens for a Link4. Still, at least you have to Link Summon those properly, rather than skipping material requirements as this Flip Effect would do. Then IMO yes, summoning Tokens and following with a Quick Effect Link Summon looks like a better way to go.
