While the superheavy samurai link may not be the best support card ever, it certainly seems decent for what it can do.

If you use a soulpiercer to make it, you can search a soulpeacemaker, and if you have another monster in your hand, you can revive the soulpiercer, and then use soulpeacemaker to summon any superheavy samurai monster out of your deck ( scales, big benkei, the good stuff ) while getting a free search. It can also drop a free big benkei onto the field just by discarding it and reviving it right away.

( since you have a valid target in your graveyard with the monster used to summon the link you can discard the big benkei and then revive him right away ).

Not taking any damage is good, as it has 0 attack. While a beatstick would have been nice, the synchro monsters already hit hard enough as it is, so it's fine.

Given what this card can do for it's archetype, I would say it's the best link monster reveal out of the 3. It's not too hard to summon, gives you a good revival effect, protects you from taking damage, good stuff.

Flame Swordsman would be awesome if it could float from your own destructions as well. How about reviving that Armageddon Knight? :v

Not familiar enough with Ojamas to grasp how good the Ojama Link is, especially when it requires 3 Beasts.

I don't know Superheavies well either, but I guess the Link it's handy enough for putting 2 Heavies on board.

In terms of our new Emperor, s'only means Scapegoat has a new bestie, Darj. Especially since we can still Instant Fusion out the Ojama Knight and revive it (since Instant Fusion counts as a Fusion Summon) with Emperor to block off potential Link Arrow routes.

Flame Swordsman Link's kinda in a tough place to be-Warrior Links kinda need to break the bank in order to shine now, between Great General, Rusty Bardiche and the King Arthur Twins Who Shall Not Be Named, but its generic enough to make defensive play-what Deck will take advantage of that is still a mystery, since the best Warrior Decks are hella aggro now.

And the Superheavy Link....god, its been a while but this is a Link I wish was 1 Rating HIGHER (instead of lower, like Parshath....and Thunder Dragon....and bloody every one of the HERO Links), but it does help forward play considering how many Sams work in the GY (and want to head over there as well. In-Archetype help with the Archetype's usual aversion to Machine Links, too-I like it.

So, 6.1 for Might Flame Swordsman, 7.7 for Emperor, and 7.9 for Scarecrow.

Im pretty sure we had a topic on Flame Swordsman a few days ago.

Here I am waiting for Ojamas to get another main deck effect monster so they can use Obedience Schooled effectively. I'm guessing they tied Emperor to Ojama Country because if they left it generic, it'd just be used with Chicken Game?

The Superheavy is REALLY good. Superheavies have a number of means of getting stuff to the field w/o their NS and a big problem with 'em is simply having stuff stuck in their hand. This gives them that needed extension while also being the easiest way to trigger Soulpiercer. At this point, I think the deck's got enough opening plays + this to finally be competent (not meta, but workable).

Hopefully, whenever we get the Superheavy Samurai link when can also get Daihachi and Swordsmaster Musashi along with it. Those cards make it even better.

Daihachi isn't in the TCG yet? Huh, I thought it was imported a while ago...

Needless to say, yeah. Daihachi is important for this card to be as good as possible, otherwise the deck is stuck under 2 opener cards which just isn't enough for a xenophobic monster-mash deck.

To be honest I see Mighty Flame Swordsman as a neat tech for HERO's where it can be used as a ATK boost as well as a float for Stratos/Vyon to trigger their effects since it doesn't negate the effects of the monsters it summons from the grave.

To be fair, you can also crash it to revive a Warrior, then destroy the attacked monster with a bigger monster you control, an easy thing to have in Masked HEROes, and continue attacking with the new Warrior. O just Summon a bigger Warrior, really.

Could be amusing in Sky Strikers as well, by reviving Raye and Summon Kagari/Hayate with its Quick Effect, although Raye would be banished in this case.

Relatively generic too, with the loss of the 2nd/3rd Needlefiber it might be worth looking into

The Superheavy Samurai Link makes Soulpiercer a 1-card Steam Train.

  1. User Soulpiercer to summon Scarecrow
  2. Piercer effect; search Peacemaker
  3. Scarecrow effect; discard literally anything that isn't Peacemaker to summon Piercer
  4. Equip Piercer with Peacemaker then use its effect; summon Scales
  5. Piercer effect; search Trumpeter
  6. summon Trumpeter
  7. Trumpeter + Piercer = Shutendoji (and Piercer goes off; search another Trumpeter and summon it)
  8. Trumpeter + Shutendoji + Scales = Steam Train
  9. In the event that you already have a spare Trumpeter or Peacemaker in your hand, you can use one of these searches for a Soulhorns or something.

Okay guys. Superheavy Samurai player coming through.

I like this link. I like it a lot. It allows me to, for example.

Summon Soulpiercer. Use it as link material, search for Arbiter. Send a monster with a grave effect to the grave. Summon Soulpiercer again. Equip Arbiter, tribute, special summon Scales. Get a search off Soulpiercer, then summon with Scale's effect. Use the Trumpter I searched this time to summon itself. Synch for 6 using Soulpiercer, get Orge, clear backrow, get a search, for another Trumpter. Special summon it, Train is live and ready to kill.

This doesn't make Samurais meta, but it makes them *fun*.

Don't get me wrong, that's neat, but all I'm seeing here is a long process to summon a monster I never really had interest in summoning in the first place.

If you don't wanna funk around and just kill em fast, the train's a pretty good way to do that in SHS. Granted if you wanna just kill em fast there are plenty of better deck options than SHS. But the train is a cool way to do things.

You guys gave me more options than I originally thought about the Superheavy Link Monster (actually I'm surprised it's been discussed that much. :D )

I liked when I saw it's a thing and I'll come up with ideas fast, but all effects/conditions it has have their nasty drawbacks too:

1) "Cannot be used as Link Material". Who would use Superheavies to abuse Link Summoning? You can still Link/Xyz/Synchro Summon, but there's only 1 slot available.

2) It's natural that it would have some inherent protection for itself or you, since 0 ATK, but it would be much better just by being immune to battle as well. The oppponent can destroy it and leave room for your plays, but it's.... weird imo.

3) It can Special Summon even a Synchro Superheavy Monster from the GY, which is awesome, but if you do that, then you essentially lock your ED unless you use that Synchro Monster for a Link Summon which means you'd rely to Link once again. However, using Scarecrow's effect to revive Main Deck monsters will be its most usual practical use, but it could simply allow you to SS anywhere you'd wish to.

unless it is from the extra deck, synchro monsters can be summoned to any zone.

So you don't want to SS a Synchro Monster from the GY unless you intend to make good use of it (talking mosty for the big ones) or if you're going to Link Summon anyway.
