星屑の願い Stardust Wish
Continuous Trap Card
(1) Once per turn, if a “Stardust” Synchro Monster you control is Tributed to activate its effect: You can target that monster; Special Summon that monster. Your opponent cannot activate cards or effects in response to this effect’s activation.
(2) If a monster Special Summoned by this card’s 1st effect is in Attack Position, it cannot be destroyed by battle.

I'm always bothered by cards that require a specific (or pretty close to specific) extra deck monster to work.

Especially when the required monster isn't great right now.

Especially when the benefit given isn't amazing.

Scrap fist is fine in my book, because it just hits hella hard, but this is a slow utility that I'm unsure if it even want if it were faster.

That is legit nice. The fact that it's a trap kinda hurts, but the effect itself seems nice. Battle protection on stardust monsters is rather good thing to have since 2500 is really easy to beat over, and revival for a second use of warrior's effect can easily cut down a decks ceiling. Stardust warrior and stardust dragon are the only two that benefit from this though aren't they? That's about the only shame really. Stardust with they had more monsters this applies to.

holy bad card batman

IF you have a Stardust Synchro, IF it activates by tributing itself, IF that opportunity comes up, you can revive it OPT, and IF it was summoned in Attack Position, it can't die IF it battles.

There is so much IF going on here, and the reward you get for it is... basically just this card saying OPT Negate a destruction effect or OPT negate an inherent summon. But it's so situational that, 9/10, it's just not worth it. It works with an entire 2 current Stardust Synchros, meaning that, unless we got a proactive Stardust Synchro, it's entirely reliant upon the opponent to even happen.

Yes, Warrior is by far the better of the two, but that requires running a trap that works ONLY with it, which is a 1-of in the ED. It just doesn't make sense. It's not even memey.

The battle protection effect should have been a continuous effect. That way Stardust Spark could save its effect for something other than itself.

Also, Stardust is not as easy to trigger nowadays. The card should prevent the opponent from running over it before activating destruction. What's the point if it has to succeed the first time? Will there even be a second time often enough?

I think the card should have been more like this:

Stardust Wish

[Field Spell]

"Stardust" monsters cannot be destroyed by battle. Your opponent cannot activate cards or effects in response to a "Stardust" monster's effect activation. If a "Stardust" monster is Tributed to activate its effect: You can Special Summon it. You can only use this effect of "Stardust Wish" once per turn.
