A Bunch of Support for My New Fav Deck

Okie, so the title is a bit awkward, cuz I wasn't sure what to call it. That being said, it's accurate. I recently made a deck that consists of a "Spellbook/Prophecy" engine, and splashes "Silent Magician" and "Silent Magician LV 8" as it's tech cards. I called it Spellbound Silence, and it's on this site if u wanna check it out.

However, as much as I loved the deck, and how good it's combo plays can be, I couldn't help but feel like it was missing something. I continued playing with it, adding new cards, taking some out, etc, but I couldn't seem to fix it with Konami cards.. Wait, with "Konami cards"? Why don't I just make some custom support for this deck instead? So thats exactly what I did.

Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, I present to you, my custom support for the Spellbound Silence deck!

[spoiler=Spellbound Silence Support]

Spellbook of Vanity

Normal Spell

Once per turn, if you control a Spellcaster monster: you can choose a number from 1 to 8; change the Level of all Spellcaster monsters you control to the selected number. If this card is in your GY (Quick Effect): you can shuffle this card into your Deck; target 1 Spellcaster monster you control; the selected target is treated as a Tuner until the End Phase.

So, I made this little Spellbook here simply becuz I was finding that there just aren't enough Spellcaster type Tuners, and the goal of the Deck is to be pure Spellcaster, so u can use the Spellbooks effects almost at all times. I also realized that I couldn't find a way to efficiently summon Alchemic Magician at all, and i wanted to use other, higher Level Spellcaster Xyz monsters as well. So, thus this card was born. It's first effect is pretty good for Xyz Summoning, but not so much for Synchro Summoning, becuz it makes all Spellcasters' Level the number u choose. However, it helps Synchros out when in the GY, by shuffling itself into the Deck to make any Spellcaster u want a Tuner. This also could go well with Magicat or Magidog if u wanted to make a cheeky shenanigan with that.

Silent Magician of Prophecy

LIGHT - Level 4 - Spellcaster/Pendulum/Effect - 1000/1000

Scale: 8

PE: Your opponent cannot activate Spell cards as long as you control a Spellcaster monster. When a "Spellbook" Spell card is activated: place 1 Spell Counter on this card. Once per turn (Quick Effect): you can remove 3 Spell Counters from this card; destroy 1 card your opponent controls.

ME: This card gains 500 ATK for each card in your hand. When this card is Summoned, you can add 1 "Prophecy" monster, "Spellbook" Spell card, or "Silent Magician" monster from your Deck or GY to you hand. You can only activate this effect of "Silent Magician of Prophecy" once per turn. If this card is destroyed, you can place it in your Pendulum Zone.

This one, I made for two reasons. the first reason was that I needed a better way to get monsters on the field. I can't tell u how many times my opponent would clear my field, attack, and then I wouldn't have any way to recover on my turn. So I made it a Pendulum, to replace Xiangsheng Magician. The 2nd reason, is becuz I wanted to make a card that could bring Silent Magician and the Spellbook/Prophecy cards together, so i made it reminiscent of both, and brought them together.

Summoner of Prophetic Origin

DARK - Level 7 - Spellcaster/Pendulum/Effect - 2300/1300

Scale: 2

PE: Special Summoned Spellcaster monsters you control are unaffected by your opponent's Trap Effects. Once per turn, when a Spellcaster monster is Special Summoned, you can activate 1 of the following effects:

- Draw 1 card

- Add 1 "Spellbook" Spell card or 1 "Prophecy" monster from your Deck or GY to your hand.

ME: (This card is always treated as a "Prophecy" monster.)

If you control a "Prophecy" monster, "Spellbook Star Hall", or "The Grand Spellbook Tower": you can Special Summon this card from your hand. You can target 1 "Prophecy" monster or 1 "Spellbook" Spell card in your GY; shuffle the target into the Deck, and if you do, Special Summon 1 "Prophecy" monster from your Deck, except "World of Prophecy". You can only use each effect of "Summoner of Prophetic Origin" once per turn. When this card is destroyed, you can place it in your Pendulum Zone.

Similar reasoning to Silent Magician of Prophecy, I needed a good way to recover if my opponent destroyed my bosses. So, I made this card as another Pendulum, to kinda fill in for Acrobatic Magician. I thought it would be cool to have it be a card that is technically a Prophecy monster, but not at the same time, so i gave it the cool name and made it treat itself as a Prophecy monster. I also limited World of Prophecy from it's second Monster effect, cuz let's be honest, that would be busted as shite.

Spellbook of Truth

Normal Spell

If you control a Spellcaster monster: you can reveal 2 "Spellbook" cards from your hand; declare 1 Card Type (Monster, Spell, or Trap): your opponent then reveals their hand, and destroys all cards of the declared type in their hand. You can only activate 1 "Spellbook of Truth" per turn.

This one, i just made kinda as a way to add a fun gimmick to the deck. It doesn't necessarily need this card per se, but I thought it would be fun to see it get some play. I also realize how devastating it can be for the opponent, so i gave it the cost of revealing 2 "Spellbook" cards from your hand, and it's not a guaranteed benefit. It's based on lucky guesses.

So there u have it! Hope u all will look over them and review them. I might make some more support as well in the future, so I'll make sure to bump it when I do. But for now, tell me what u think!

This is Raven Evalon, Signing out~

Damn, I can understand why Prophecies are not really cutting it nowadays, but IMO you went overboard with the support.

Vanity

The weakest of the set, IMO. Facilitates Xyz and Synchro Summons but it's a -1 in a vacuum. Should be alright. I guess the strongest you could make is Norito in an opening play.

By the way, Spell/Traps don have "Quick Effects". You will have to reword that.

Silent Magician

PE: So, it's a Secret Village with a Spellcaster Pendulum body, that is both a Silent Magician and a Prophecy... this isn't cool at all, for reasons I hope I don't have to explain. Also, again the issue of writing the Quick Effect clause on a Spell effect.

ME: Pretty much another copy of Blue boy with extra searching range. Not exactly a bad thing, but it gets bland when you give a searcher to an archetype that already has a searcher. By the way, by searching any Prophecy monster you open a translation nightmare in TCG. Will just copy/paste the YGO wikia on this one:

"Due to their Japanese names containing 魔(ま)導(どう), a number of older cards, such as "Armor Exe" ("Magical Armor Exe") and "Dark Paladin" ("Super-Magical Swordsman - Black Paladin"), also fall into this archetype. Even some cards released after "Stoic of Prophecy", such as "Ebon Illusion Magician", that fall into this archetype do not include "Prophecy" in their English names. However, because TCG and OCG support for this archetype only works on Level 3 Monster Cards in the Main Deck, none receive support and lack synergy with the Deck."

Origin

Surprised you didn't base this card's stats on a Crowley/Aleister in some way, as the Prophecy Link implies. For instance, 2000/2800 stats, which are Aleister's reversed stats +1000. Anyway, a potent card. Easy to self-Summon and when it does, you get an extra card. Simple swarming. Can't really say it's bad because other archetypes get cards like this, plus it's spiced up as a Pendulum. The Pendulum Effect should be fine. Also, it has the same issue with supporting any "Prophecy" monster.

Truth

You say it's the card the need the least, but ironically I find it as the strongest and most breaking of the bunch. With the right call, or after knowing what deck you face, it can pretty much becomes a win on its own if you open with it. IIRC Spellbooks had little problems getting multiple books on hand to drop Priestess, so they shouldn't have much trouble getting 2 books for this, either. As for how it can win, well, you could call Spells vs. Sky Strikers, Traps vs. Altergeists, and monsters vs. Thunder Dragons and maybe Goukis, or just in general to kill any hand traps.
