Assault Mode Zero
Quick-Play Spell
-You can only use each of this card name's (1) and (2) effects once per turn.
(1) Tribute 1 Synchro Monster you control; Special Summon 1 "/Assault Mode" monster whose name includes the Tributed monster's name from your hand, and treat it as if it was Special Summoned by "Assault Mode Activate".
(2) You can banish this card from your GY; Set 1 "Assault Mode Activate" from your hand or Deck, also you can activate it this turn.

Activate handles the Deck, this is at least playable when you brick and open the other one.

I think the last effect is better though; searching Activate while turning it essentially into a Quick-Play Spell this turn. In fact, this card can potentially become 2 Assault Modes if you managed to open one of them.

I really like this card. Handles all aspects of the tough part of Assault mode.

I have a Hyper Psychic Blaster/Assault Mode deck so THIS IS AWESOME!

To make the card worth using you really want some way to get it in the GY. If you can reliably get it in the grave it can really make summoning your Assault Mode much more consistent. The in hand effect is honestly pretty good, too, if only for the fact it makes drawing your Assault Mode monster not completely rubbish.

so yeah, this card's main effect is by no means worth it to use even if you don't draw the above card first

Assault Teleport isn't worth using at all, it requires you to draw your Assault Mode when you're probably going to be playing 3 of them at most. Plus, since it shuffles your Assault Mode back there's always the chance you'll just draw it again. EDIT: This could change, though. It depends what (if any) other support Assault Modes get.

Honestly, what would make this card sooo much better is if its name was treated as Assault Mode Activate in deck. It might conflict with the original for spacing, but it would be searchable plus it would allow its second effect to be even more useful.

Regarding Assault Modes, which ones are actually worth going into? I used to have Doomkaiser Dragon/AM and it could be really useful as a Link spam monster, but that still requires an obtuse amount of setup.

Stardust Dragon is everyone's first choice, as negating stuff is good even if it's not as unique as it once was (with Cyber Dragon Infinity, Toadally Awesome etc all doing similar things).

Doomkaiser Dragon seems pretty awesome thanks to the new Zombie World support and this card allowing you to summon the Assault Mode version during your own turn a lot faster.

Similarly, Colossal Fighter could be actually decent thanks to the large amount of Warriors that are useful in your GY. Malicious and Shadow Mist for example. And Assault Mode Zero allows you to do that without having to wait a turn first.

Arcanite Magician will probably be getting (indirect) support in the new Spell Counter Structure Deck R, particularly if it includes some new Spellcaster Synchro stuff, which it might seeing as the original structure deck was 5Ds era.

Hyper Psychic Blaster is my personal favourite. It's not the easiest to summon, but the new Level 3 Psychics from Savage Strike help. It's just a beatstick, and the introduction of Link Monsters weakened it as they don't have any DEF for its burn effect. But it's still fun to use.

Red Dragon Archfiend is probably the worst of them. Effect-wise you can get similar results from Scarlight or Hot Red Dragon Archfiend, or Tyrant if you have 2 Tuners, so it just feels a bit pointless in a dedicated RDA deck. That being said if there is more Assault Mode support that could make it consistent enough to be worth playing.

What I'm really hoping for though are some new /Assault Mode monsters. If they make more Signer Dragon/Assault Modes, Black Rose Dragon would be interesting because you could chain Assault Mode Activate to its destroy everything effect and have it 'survive'. Honestly there are so many good candidates that I don't know what I'd want. A Thought Ruler Archfiend/Assault Mode would make me very happy.
