Assault Spirit

LIGHT / Level 8 / Beast-warrior / Synchro / Effect

1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner Monster

For this card's Synchro Summon, you can treat 1 monster you control that specifically lists the card "Assault Mode Activate" in its text as a Tuner. If this card is Synchro Summoned using a Tuner that specifically lists the card "Assault Mode Activate" in its text: Draw 2 cards. While this card is face-up on field or in in your GY (Quick Effect): You can pay 1000 LP; excavate top cards of your Deck until you excavate an "/Assault Mode" monster, and if you do, this card's name becomes the name(s) listed in the text of /Assault Mode monster(s) you control and excavated this way until your next Standby Phase. Then return all excavated cards to the top of the Deck in any order.

ATK 2500 / DEF 2300

No ED slot for subpar Sync your Monster needs? This got you covered! Easy mat, can turn his name to any synchro you want to facilitate summon and making it float regardless which /Assault Modes that meet its Demise

Lacking Advantage need for all the bricks? Draw 2 cards and stack your Deck like nobody Business

Unless I'm misreading it, it's possible to Synchro Summon this card without using a monster listing "Assault Mode Activate" in its card text, which means it just becomes a draw 3 on Summon for any Deck. Was that intentional? Even assuming it needed an Assault Mode monster, I suggest drawing 2 at the absolute max. Tbh I was expecting it to shuffle 3, leaving the number of Assault Mode activate cards to be your actual draw, but w/e.

Name replacement just seems to...wide, I guess? Why does it grab from all 3 locations, when grabbing from the Deck OR hand is easy enough? I just seems a chaotic mish-mash of effects right now, with way too much text.

Still, I like the idea, as it is a creative way of supporting the archetype.. Even though I don't want it to grab from the hand AND Deck, at least at the same time, it does facilitate the Spell AND the original Trap, so kudos there.

Like the changes! Just a quick question carrying on from the last time:

Why does it take the name of Assault monster you control? Surely if you control the Assault monster, you wouldn't need to ladder into this card in the first place?

its for /Assault Mode Float effect. That being said though i kinda forget that the float effect need specific names unlike Active that simply take the included names so im gonna change the name change effect to take names listed on the /Assault Modes effect text rather than the actual names

Text fix:

Probably the excavation effect can be further clarified, but the draw effect needed a fix for it to properly start a chain.

Anyway, not a big fan of the card. IMO an appeal of /Assault Modes is designing and tailoring decks for each /Assault and their respective Synchros that require different materials. If you make something like this, all of that becomes moot as you can simply dedicate to Synchro8 Summoning. Then again, you can already access different /Assaults through their Reboot cards, but that takes more set-up steps than this.

Then, copying multiple names seems iffy. It's not broken nor anything, it's just kind of weird. IDK if it's even possible for a card to have more than 2 names, beyond an original name and a copied name.
